GIRL ABOUT TOWN: Logs, stock and two smoking steaks - Horror as David Beckham climbs into fire pit at his best mate Guy Ritchie's estate

As a national treasure, David Beckham’s safety is of the utmost importance, so imagine my horror when he climbed into a fire pit last week!

The former England star attended a Argentinian-style barbecue, made by celebrity chef Francis Mallmann, at the Wiltshire estate of his best mate – Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels director Guy Ritchie.

Perhaps in search of a juicy steak, Beckham took it upon himself to climb over the burning logs and into the pit – then pose for the camera.

Luckily, even though he was wearing a flammable-looking gilet, he escaped unharmed.

Phew!

Jemima Jones has taken the marital phrase ‘what’s mine is yours’ literally by investing £40,000 in husband Ben Goldsmith’s green investment trust.

According to a notice filed with the London Stock Exchange, new mother Jemima, 29, has bought 66,000 shares in Menhaden Capital, following a windfall from her catering business, Tart.

Financier Ben tells me: ‘Jemima’s done well with Tart, and how lovely of her to want to buy Menhaden shares.

'Hers is the best possible endorsement.’
