Billy Bush looked apprehensive at the Los Angeles International Airport in photographs that show the Today show host for the first time since the tape of a shocking conversation he had with Donald Trump emerged on Friday.
Wearing a trucker hat and dark rimmed glasses as he waited for a car, Bush has already faced the swift wrath of Facebook users who branded him a 'pig' and 'scumbag'.
But more troubles are likely to lie ahead, with one source telling Dailymail.com: 'If he doesn't resign, NBC needs to act immediately and fire him.'
In the hot mic recording obtained by the Washington Post, Bush laughed along in 2005 as Trump bragged about his ability to do 'anything' to women - including 'grab[ing] them by the p***y' - because he was a celebrity.'

The Republican presidential nominee also detailed how he tried to seduce the married Nancy O'Dell, who was Bush's co-host on Access Hollywood at the time.
'I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and f*** her. She was married', Trump says in the recording.
An NBC source told DailyMail.com that Access Hollywood staff uncovered the controversial footage as part of a story the program commissioned for next week, but they were beaten to the punch after someone leaked it.
'(The video) was in the process of being heavily vetted by Access Hollywood and NBC's attorneys,' the insider said.
'Unfortunately someone within NBC leaked the video in full beforehand to both embarrass Donald and Billy.
'NBC and Access Hollywood have absolutely no idea who released the video but it was most certainly leaked. The quality is perfect and it is previously unaired material.'

The source went on to describe how Bush was not liked by some of the people he worked with on the show, before he made the jump to Today this year.
'While Billy was liked by some staff at Access Hollywood, he was a highly polarizing figure who at times acted like an entitled jock and this annoyed his colleagues,' they said.
'It's disgusting that he would let someone talk about his former colleague Nancy O'Dell in that way.'
The network insider also said the 44-year-old host who is the nephew of former president George H.W. Bush and cousin of George W. Bush should 'resign from NBC News'.

'And if he doesn't resign, NBC needs to act immediately and fire him. Even if this was 11 years ago it speaks to his character or lack of character.'
However, another person close to the situation said Bush's job is safe despite the controversy.
'Billy has really done a great job on the third hour of Today since he joined. He's well liked by the team and not at all polarizing,' the second source said.

'I'M ALL BILLY AND NOTHING ABOUT THE BUSH': AFTER YEARS OUT OF THE POLITICAL SPOTLIGHT, JUST WHO IS BILLY BUSH AND HOW DID HE END UP AT THE CENTER OF TRUMP'S POTENTIALLY ELECTION-ENDING CONTROVERSY?
Billy Bush was thrust into the election campaign on Friday after a recording of him speaking to Donald Trump on the set of Days of Our Lives in 2005 emerged.
Bush, the 44-year-old host of NBC's Today, was caught out laughing along as Trump bragged about trying to sleep with a married woman and making other shocking comments about women.
He was born in New York City, before going on to attend the exclusive Colby College in Maine.
He then joined the media ranks, starting out with local affiliates and radio stations before landing a gig with Access Hollywood in December 2001.
After a little less than three years, he was promoted to co-anchor in June 2004.
From there, his career in entertainment took off, with Bush being chosen to host pre-show broadcasts for the Academy Awards in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
He also scored a sought-after gig covering the Olympics in 2004 for NBC, a role he revived for the Winter Games in 2006, as well as the Beijing Games in 2008 and Rio in 2016.
Prior to Friday's scandal, he has steered clear of the political world - unlike other members of his famous family.
In fact, Bush seemed to deliberately steer clear of the game that has been dominated by his dynastic family, describing himself in 2008 as 'so apolitical'.
'I'm all about the Billy and nothing about the Bush,' he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
'I have respect for my uncle and my cousin, who have achieved great heights, but it's not for me.
'People don't even know how I vote.'
He has interviewed Trump repeatedly throughout the years, and has been pictured with the reality television star.
He also hosted the Miss Universe pageant four times - in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2009 - during the time Trump co-ran the competition.
Bush married his wife Sydney Davis in 1999, and they have three children together.
'These comments are from over 10 years ago and they don't represent the Billy we all work with today.
'Billy's job is not at risk.'
An Access Hollywood insider told DailyMail.com: 'As we reported in our story this evening, Access Hollywood has interviewed Donald Trump literally hundreds of times over 20 years.
'With Mr. Trump’s nomination as presidential candidate, Access Hollywood reviewed its extensive library footage and discovered these comments.'
Bush apologized for his role in the recording on Friday, saying in a statement: 'Obviously I'm embarrassed and ashamed. It's no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago - I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I'm very sorry.'
The married woman Trump was heard in the recording saying he tried to seduce was revealed to be Entertainment Tonight co-host Nancy O'Dell

He also swiftly deleted his Twitter account on Friday in the wake of the revelation, however his Facebook page that remained online was flooded with negative comments.
'Oh my Billy Bush you really surprise me with that conversation with "the Donald" I've lost a lot of respect for you!' Becky Bouldin wrote.
'Billy Bush! Just heard the Trump video in which you participated. Really???? You owe us something in the way of explanation... I'm so embarrassed by this and other happenings during this campaign,' Nancy Fuleihan said.
'Hey Billy Bush... you proud of yourself?' Ronald Wright asked.
TRANSCRIPT OF THE RECORDING FEATURING DONALD TRUMP'S LATEST CONTROVERSIAL COMMENTS
Trump: ‘You know and I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it.
‘I did try and f*** her, she was married.’
Other voice: ‘That’s huge news!’
Trump: ‘No, no, Nancy. No this was – And I moved on her very heavily in fact I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, “I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture”.
‘I took her out for furniture. I moved on her like a b***h, but I couldn’t get there, and she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony t*ts and everything.
‘She’s totally changed her look.’
Billy Bush: ‘Sheesh, your girl’s hot as s***. In the purple.’
Multiple voices: ‘Whoa! Yes! Whoa!’
Bush: ‘Yes, the Donald has scored. Whoa, my man!’
Trump: ‘Look at you, you are a p***y. OK, you and I will walk down.’
Trump (speaking about actor Arianne Zucker): ‘Maybe it’s a different one.’
Bush: ‘It better not be the publicist. No, it’s her.’
Trump: ‘Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic-Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful – I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet.
‘Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything.’
Bush: ‘Whatever you want.’
Trump: ‘Grab them by the p***y. You can do anything.’
Bush: ‘Yeah those legs. All I can see is the legs.’
Trump: ‘Oh, it looks good.’
Bush: ‘Come on, shorty.’
Trump: ‘Oh nice legs, huh?’
Bush: ‘Oof, get out of the way honey. Oh, that’s the good legs. Go ahead.’
Trump (getting off the bus): ‘It’s always good if you don’t fall out of the bus. Like Ford, Gerald Ford, remember?’
Bush (after Trump knocks on the window for someone to open the door): ‘Down below. Pull the handle.’
Trump (to Zucker): ‘Hello, how are you, hi.’
Zucker: ‘Hi Mr Trump. How are you?’
Trump: ‘Nice seeing you. Terrific, terrific. You know Billy Bush?’
Bush: ‘Hello, nice to see you. How you doing, Arianne?’
Zucker: ‘I’m doing very well thank you. [To Trump] Are you ready to be a soap star?’
Trump: ‘We’re ready, let’s go. Make me a soap star.’
Bush: ‘How about a little hug for the Donald? He just got off the bus.’
Zucker: ‘Would you like a little hug, darling?’
Trump: ‘Absolutely. Melania said this was OK.’
Bush: ‘How about a little hug for the Bushy? I just got off the bus. Here we go, excellent. Well you’ve got a nice co-star here.’
Trump: ‘Good, after you. Come on Billy, don’t be shy.’
Bush: ‘As soon as a beautiful woman shows up he just, he takes off. This always happens.’
Zucker (waving to Bush): ‘I’m sorry, come here.’
Bush: ‘Let the little guy in here, come on.’
Zucker: ‘Yeah let the little guy in. How you feel now? Better? I should actually be in the middle.’
Bush: ‘It’s hard to walk next to a guy like this. Yeah, you get in the middle. There we go.’
Trump: ‘Good, that’s much better.’
Zucker: ‘This is much better. This is…’
Bush: ‘Now if you had to choose honestly between one of us. Me or the Donald?’
Trump: ‘I don’t know that’s tough competition.’
Zucker: ‘That’s some pressure right there.’
Bush: ‘Seriously, you had to take one of us as a date.’
Zucker: ‘I have to take the Fifth on that one… I’ll take both.’
Trump (near the Day of Our Lives studio): ‘Which way?’
Zucker: ‘Make a right. Here we go.’
Bush: ‘Here he goes. I’m gonna leave you here. Give me my microphone. ‘
Trump: ‘OK. OK. Oh, you’re finished?’
Bush: ‘You’re my man. Yeah.’
Trump: ‘Oh, good.’
Bush: ‘I’m gonna go do our show. ‘
