Waving the white flag! Paris Jackson's boyfriend has Confederate tattoo covered up after racism row

He was accused of being racist over a tattoo which showed the Confederate flag.

And now it has emerged Paris Jackson's boyfriend Michael Snoddy has now had the image covered up.

The drummer's inking, which also bears the initials CFH, has been tattooed over with a new flame design.

A message on Los Angeles tattoo parlour Dermagraphink's Instagram page on Sunday said: 'Cover up on my buddy @michaelsnoddy love ya brother.'

And Paris revealed that 'it was his idea to cover it up' in response to a comment from an Instagram user, which she shared to her own page with the caption: 'Can we all finally move on now?'

She also wrote: 'I could care less about the tattoo. I know he originally got it for his favorite band. Hell, Lynrd Skynyrd, one of my favorite bands, used to pridefully wave the same flag.

'Now, my boyfriend decided to get it covered up on his own expense. He didn't like the racism that was affiliated with it, the same way Nazis are affiliated with the Sanskrit svastika (now known as the swaztika) and the same way satanists are affiliated with many Celtic and pagan symbols.'

Paris concluded: 'No matter what is on his body, I will always love him. But it does say a lot about who he is by him trying to be respectful towards people of all races.'

A row erupted in April after Michael posted an image of his original tattoo on Instagram alongside the hashtag 'Southern pride'.

The 26-year-old musician, whose relationship with the daughter of Prince Of Pop Michael Jackson was first exposed earlier this year, wrote alongside the image: 'I've been wanting this tattoo since middle school!'

The Confederate flag, which has sparked fierce debate in recent years with some calling for it to be banned, was originally used to represent a body of people who wanted to keep slavery legal in the US.

He added #CowboysFromHell, which perhaps suggests the tattoo is linked to heavy metal band Pantera.

Snoddy's Twitter page also bears the message: 'Southern made, Hollywood paid.'

The band used the flag on some of their merchandise and whose frontman was forced to apologise after being caught doing what appeared to be a Nazi salute while shouting 'white power'.

It was claimed Miss Jackson's family may think the tattoo, which was completed last year, is indicative of his feelings towards African-Americans.

But Snoddy denied their claims and said: 'I wouldn't be dating a black girl if I were a racist.'

The drummer is the heiress' first partner since she split with Chester Castellaw.

Snoddy, who attended Full Sail University, frequently performs at county fairs with his percussive band Street Drum Corps.

It has previously been reported that the Virginia-born musician, who is said to be a keen Kevin Spacey fan and whose mother is a nurse, met Paris at one of her AA meetings.
