Blackpool boss Holloway dismisses 'disgraceful' £4m Liverpool bid for Adam

Big-time Charlie: A host of Premier League clubs are in the hunt for Blackpool star Adam
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has torn into Kenny Dalglish over Liverpool's attempts to sign midfielder Charlie Adam.
But last night his outspoken manner was threatening to alienate some senior managers including Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson, his next opponent.
Holloway hit out after losing 2-1 to Sunderland and condemned Liverpool's £4million offer as 'disgraceful'.
Yet it was the manner of his attack which will cause disquiet.
Liverpool are the third Premier League club following Aston Villa and Birmingham to bid for Adam but Holloway did not treat Dalglish any more kindly than Villa boss Gerard Houllier.
The Blackpool boss accused the Frenchman of trying to 'steal' 24-year-old Adam.
Holloway said last night: 'If you're going to offer us something, make sure it's realistic. That last one from Kenny is probably what Charlie would have been worth 19 years ago or nine years ago or whenever Kenny was in charge before. If anyone wants to argue, have a look at the game. He wins headers, he sets the tempo of our play, he's got an unbelievable range of passing.
On target: Adam scored from the penalty spot for the Seasiders on Saturday
'If that is only £4m I'm a Scotsman called McTavish.'
Holloway has been a popular figure but it seems his attacks on clubs trying to sign Adam are backfiring.
Ferguson, who takes United to Bloomfield Road on Tuesday, said: 'I've had him (Holloway) bending my bloody ear on the phone. He's never got a penny, always pleading poverty. You end up crying after he comes off the phone, feeling sorry for himself. He's always been that way, for loans and so on. Even when he was dealing with (£350,000) signing Craig Cathcart from us, he was saying "I can't afford him". Now he says he is the best signing he's made!
'Of course he thinks the offers are not enough! When he goes for a player, his view is the asking price is ''bloody disgraceful, bleeding the country dry''. Then somebody tries to buy his players!'
Adam has only has 18 months of his contract to run and Holloway added: 'Just because we are Blackpool, it doesn't mean we don't know what a player is worth. The offers we have received have been disgraceful.
'I might fancy buying my next door neighbour's car, but it doesn't mean I can afford it.
'If he stays until the end of the season, every club in the Premier League will be after him.'
