And the 28-year-old wore a salmon pink dress to match the film's fishy storyline.

Blunt teamed the elegant knee-length dress with a sparkling silver and black clutch bag and some silver shoes to match.

And the Devil Wears Prada star was clearly feeling tickled pink as she applied lashings of bright lipstick to complete her look.

She also took the time to pose for photographs on the red carpet with Festival Director Darryl Macdonald.

British comedy Salmon Fishing in the Yemen also stars Ewan McGregor and Kristin Scott Thomas.

It is being shown at the first night of the festival after making its debut in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.

It tells the story of a fisheries scientist who ends up changing the course of British political history after reluctantly agreeing to help bring salmon fishing to the wadis of the Highlands of Yemen.

The movie is based on a novel of the same name, written by Paul Torday.

Blunt has just returned to work following a New Year's getaway with her husband John Krasinski and their good friend Jimmy Kimmel, as well as his girlfriend Molly McNearney.

The foursome headed to Kauai for the trip and were photographed surfing the Hawaiian waves together.

Blunt made the most of her time away before a very busy year.
