Back on track? Estranged Laura Dern and Ben Harper look very much a couple at Golden Globes after party

She was said to be 'blindsided' when her husband Ben Harper filed for divorce back in October 2010.

But Laura Dern and Ben Harper's appearance together at a Golden Globes after-party last night fuelled swirling rumours of a reconciliation between the couple.

Following Dern's win for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy, she and Harper, a Grammy-winning musician, looked very much together at the HBO bash at the Beverly Hilton.

Dern beamed with delight as Harper put his arm round her at their table, with the 44-year-old actress looking stunning in dark green sequinned dress by designer Andrew Gn.

She was also spotted laughing and joking with her estranged musician husband, with whom she has two children, Ellery, ten, and seven-year-old Jaya.

The 2010 divorce filing by Harper, who Dern married back in 2005, was said to have come as a shock to the actress.

Although Harper, 42, had claimed at the time that the couple had been separated for months - according to friends, they had been living and travelling together more recently.

Harper cited irreconcilable differences in the filing and asked that spousal support be denied to Dern, 43, and that the couple share custody of their children.

Prior to tying the knot with Harper, Dern has been linked to Nicholas Cage, Kyle MacLachlan, Jeff Goldblum and Billy Bob Thornton, to whom she was engaged to and living with when he suddenly married Angelina Jolie in 2000.

Dern, who was away filming at the time, read about the marriage, and the obvious end of her relationship, in the newspapers.

She has said of the break-up: 'I left our home to work on a movie, and while I was away, my boyfriend got married, and I’ve never heard from him again.

'It’s like a sudden death. For no one has there been any closure or clarity.'

Following the Thornton-scandal, Dern eventually met Harper at one of his concerts in 2000.

At the time he was separated from his first wife, Joanne, with whom he has two children.
