It's a wonder what make-up can do! TOWIE's Maria Fowler goes from glum to glam for Essex leaving party

We've always wondered what lengths the TOWIE stars go to to create their glamorous, preened selves.

And now Maria Fowler has demonstrated the lengthy process it takes to achieve her lavish look.

On Friday she was spotted looking far from glamorous as she appeared make-up free, with roots showing, wearing a granny-style cardigan.

But hours later and two salon visits down the line she emerged with a full face of make-up in a typically figure-hugging dress.

And she obviously wanted to make an impact as she planned to visit her old haunt Nubar and reunite with her colleagues for the first time since announcing her departure from the programme.

Maria emerged looking radiant as she hit the town for her 'leaving do'.

She squeezed into Celeb Boutique's multi-coloured cut out bandage dress, which showed off the glamour model's ample cleavage.

With plenty of flesh on show, the 25-year-old looked glowing with her freshly applied fake tan as she confidently walked along with her newly coloured hair.

Maria teamed the outfit up with lashings of pink lipstick and perfectly styled accessories, including a black handbag with peep toe shoes, showing off her pedicure.

And she was ecstatic with the final look, as she posted a series of pictures on Twitter showing her with her TOWIE pals, including Joey Essex.

She wrote during her night out: 'Leaving party in full swing "Bye Essex"'.

But while she gave the elusion she always looks perfectly groomed, earlier in the day she was left red-faced as she demonstrated that definitely is not the case.

Pouting: She may look immaculate now with her fake tan and lashings of make-up but we now know what process it took!

She obviously wanted to go incognito ready for her big night out in Essex with her former TOWIE pals.

But her glamorous entrance into the county wasn't to be as she was spotted out and about without a spot of make-up on before she'd managed to get ready.

The model was seen entering a salon sporting a bare face and her hair scraped back, showing off her unkempt roots.

The glamour model recently switched her fiery red locks for a lighter style, opting to go more blonde.

And she's slowly been lightening her hair for the last month, last topping up her locks earlier this month.

But she obviously needed another touch up of colour when she dropped in to the Belles & Beaus salon in Essex, which is owned by TOWIE's Billi Mucklow.

She spent three hours in the hairdressers' chair in the new year to perfect her new blonde image.

But Maria's roots appeared to have an odd grey tone, while the rest of her hair looked like it had gone back to her natural red.

It was a rarity to see the reality star looking so dressed down, wearing a wrap-around brightly coloured cardigan.

Fowler teamed the casual number with a pink T-shirt, skinny jeans and lilac flip-flops, later changing into black Ugg boots.

But she was obviously about to work her beauty magic as she was prepping for a night on the town on Friday night.

No cleavage? We're used to seeing the reality star dressed to the nines!

The glamour model visited both Billi's salon, as well as HOBS to receive a full 'pamper' session.

Ahead of the visits, Maria wrote on her Twitter page: 'Off to @belles_beausx and @HOBSALONS pamper time ready for tonight!x'

The TV star was planning to head out with TOWIE stars Mucklow and Cara Kilbey.

She added: 'Buzzin @BilliMucklow @carakilbey comin to play tonight too..!!!! #MissedThemALittleBit hahaha x'

But the Derby-native was left embarrassed when she was spotted in her dishevelled state before she'd managed to undergo her beauty treatments.

'Forgot about paps in essex... Don't have that problem in derby haha jus got exposed no makeup by 3 of them boooo u no who u r!!!!' she complained.

She then added a picture of the three snappers who were pressed against the salon window trying to catch her not looking her best.

The pin-up doesn't mind admitting to undergoing her beauty regimes.

But Maria was left fuming earlier this week when rumours emerged she's undergone Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) breast implants.

The TV star, who announced earlier this month she is leaving TOWIE, slammed the claims, insisting she's never undergone the treatment.

Reports emerged alleging she was one of the 40,000 UK women who had been given the implants supplied by a French company.

They have been under scrutiny recently because they have been the subject of a health scare due to reports of a high rupture rate.

'Why are gossip websites saying I have pip implants.... ?? I suggest they take it down asap....' she fumed, adding to one gossip site: 'I do NOT have pip implants. Your story is misleading.'

Maria's TOWIE castmate Lauren Pope, meanwhile, has admitted to undergoing PIP implants.

She said: 'I just thought like, how the hell has this happened? How can 40,000 women be in the same situation now; where we'll either not have an operation and keep them in us and think it might be fine, it might not.'
