She's No. 1! Solange Knowles claims top spot on Billboard 200 with new album A Seat At The Table... as she and Beyonce become the first sisters to both have number one records
Solange Knowles has landed her first number one album.
The singer, who is the younger sister of pop superstar Beyonce, is celebrating after her new record A Seat At The Table landed the top spot on the Billboard 200 Chart.
The 30-year-old spent four years writing the album, which hit No. 1 after selling 72,000 million copies since being released on September 30,Billboard reports.

She narrowly beat out Bon Iver's new album 22, A Million, which was widely tipped to be No. 1, but came in second with 71,000 in unit sales.
A Seat At The Table is Solange's third full-length album.
The Knowles sisters have become only the third sibling pair to land individual No. 1 records, and are the first sisters to pull off the impressive feat.
Michael and Janet Jackson both had multiple albums hit number ones, while Master P (who also has a spoken word segment on Solange's album) had two number one albums while his brotherSilkk The Shocker landed one.

Beyonce, who just wrapped up her Formation World Tour in New Jersey on Friday, has had six number one albums, including her latest record Lemonade, which also came out this year.
And the Hold Up singer, 35, shared a shout-out to Solange on Instagram on Sept 30 as the album was released.
'Congrats to my sister on creating this beautiful work of art,' Beyonce wrote.
'I could not be more proud of you.'

Queen Bey also shared a cute photo of a Beyonce Barbie doll buying Solange's record.
Solange - who grabbed headlines when CCTV footage caught her attacking her sister's husband Jay Z in an elevator in 2014 - has said the album was inspired by her parents, Matthew Knowles and Tina Lawson, who both have spoken-word segments on A Seat At The Table.

The singer wore a pretty pink dress with asymmetrical design and pulled her hair back in long braids, while music video director Alan, 52, looked sharp in a beige three-piece suit.
The artistic couple wed in 2014.
Solange is mother to eleven-year-old son Daniel Julez Smith Jr, from her marriage to ex Daniel Smith.
