A 15-year-old boy has admitted murdering a school dinner lady and her teenage daughter by stabbing and smothering them to death in their beds as they slept. The boy crept into the bedrooms of dinner lady Elizabeth Edwards and her 13-year-old daughter Katie (both pictured centre and right) where he knifed his victims repeatedly in the neck while his female accomplice listened to them 'struggling and gurgling', a court heard. The pair, who were both 14 at the time and cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly plotted the attack at a McDonald's restaurant the previous night. The jury heard that following the brutal killings the young couple took a bath together to rinse off blood and watched the teenage vampire romance Twilight. Today at Nottingham Crown Court friends and family including Ms Edwards' eldest daughter Katie (pictured left with her partner) and her boyfriend Graham Green (inset) broke down in tears in the public gallery as they listened to graphic details of how their loved ones died.

'If I don't change, I'll be in one of these caskets': Terrified Philippine drug dealers enter rehab program where they build coffins for the thousands killed in Duterte's war on narcotics
More than 700,000 drug users and pushers have registered with the authorities in the Philippines and to warn them off taking drugs again, they have been trained to make coffins. Authorities hope that with the users seeing the coffins being made, it will encourage them to kick their habit and not become a victim of the war on drugs. Since new Philippines president Duterte was sworn into office on June 30, more than 3,600 people have been killed, mostly alleged drug users and dealers, in police operations and suspected vigilante killings.
