Looking ace! Curvy Serena Williams steals the show at the ESPY Awards in plunging pink minidress

She made a triumphant return to the tennis circuit at Wimbledon last month after having almost a year off due to illness.

And last night Serena Williams scored another ace as she successfully managed to steal the show at the ESPY Awards as she posed on the red carpet wearing a plunging pink minidress.

The skintight outfit, which featured detailing to make it look like a suit jacket and skirt, drew attention to Serena's curvy figure and highlighted her most prominent assets.

Serena, 29, accessorised her dress with a sky-high pair of Christian Louboutin gold glitter heels and a detailed gold necklace.

And while sports stars including Maria Sharapova and Hannah Cornett went all out in their outfits, Serena ensured all attention was on her in her eye-catching dress.

Serena is famous for her curvy figure, which is the polar opposite of sister Venus' athletic, muscular physique.

But the sports star admits it took her a while to accept her figure and adopt a healthy attitude to diet and exercise.

She said recently: 'Since I don’t look like every other girl, it takes a while to be okay with that. To be different. But different is good.

'My smile remains my favorite part of my body. Does that count? I think a smile can make your whole body!'

Serena, who was forced to take time out from the tennis world after suffering various injuries as well as a life-threatening pulmonary embolism, also said she has been trying out different exercises to stay in the best shape possible.

She said: 'I wanted to get really fit. I wanted to lose some weight. So I’ve been doing Pilates and yoga, trying to lean out my body so I won’t be bulky.'

And referring to the prospect of dieting, Serena said: 'I don’t even know the D word. Smaller portions of every meal, a lot of grilled or baked chicken or fish, and steamed veggies.

'But I can never turn down a good piece of cherry pie. All I know is that in 10 years, I don’t want to be as wide as this couch.'
