'I don't think there even should be a plebiscite': The Bachelorette's Georgia Love expresses support for legalising same-sex marriage

Georgia Love has already found the man of her dreams on The Bachelorette.

And now she's expressing support for marriage equality in Australia by calling on the government to legalise same-sex nuptials.

The 27-year-old also told The Daily Telegraph that a $160 million plebiscite on the issue is unnecessary.

The former journalist believes same-sex marriage should simply be legalised.

'I don't think there even should be a plebiscite,' she told the publication. 

'It’s abhorrent that we don’t have gay marriage legalised in this country.'

There are currently 10 contestants vying for Georgia's heart on The Bachelorette.

During Thursday night's episode, 26-year-old Cameron shared a passionate kiss with Georgia.

Fans flocked to Twitter to compare the moment to The Bachelor Richie Strahan's 'winning kiss' with Alex Nation.

The Perth firefighter was declared 'the king of the single date kiss', while other fans claimed he was already a favourite to win.

Meanwhile, Ryan Palk was the latest contestant to get was kicked off the show.

In a recent Elle Australia interview, Ryan gave his thoughts about the Bachelorette boys - saying only a handful of them had genuine feelings.

'I certainly think the ones there looking for true love are Courtney and Cam, I think Lee as well, and Clancy. Probably Matty J too.'

'I’m not sure about all of the other guys, in terms of what their motivations are,' he concluded.
