'What you see is not necessarily what you get': Cross-dressing performer Miss Powers wows The X Factor judges by jumping into the splits before singing It's A Man's World

Before she took the stage, she told The X-Factor host Jason Dundas 'make-up gives me energy'.

And Miss Powers was not short of that when she took the stage on Monday night's episode. 

The 33-year-old, whose real name is Andrew Mark Baris, describes himself as 'outside the box of a man and a woman', and brought the best of both worlds to help with the audition.

From Sydney, the performer showed off her muscular chest in a black peplum top with a plunging neckline, which she paired with black yoga pants and a bold monochome print blazer.

She added a touch of sparkle to the look in a pair of bedazzled boots with a sky-high stiletto heel. 

Miss Powers' brightened her face with gold powder and added a touch of drama with a smokey eye and dark lip.

The already amazed judges appeared ecstatic when the ballroom dance and yoga teacher hit the first few big notes of the It's A Man's World with an amplified version of James Brown's gritty voice.

All three judges were delighted with what they saw, and all admitted they had no idea what to expect when the Philippines-born performer hit the stage.

Guy Sebastian labelled it: 'Hands down the best opening to any audition I've ever seen.'

'Thanks for making me realise how not flexible I am,' he joked with the eager contestant. 

Iggy Azalea was left speechless when she tried to explain what she had just seen.

'I expected a drag show where there was no vocal ability, but that was like...,' she said in amazement. 

The Sydneysider was given three yes votes from the judges and will go through to the next round.

She will be joined by a range of eclectic performers, such as Naisa Lasalosi, who just returned to Sydney from a two-year missions trip for his mormon church. 

The 22-year-old wowed the judges with his soaring falsetto as he sang Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me .

IT worker Predz came on the show to improve his singing, but was given a chance at redemption when Guy, Adam and Iggy invited him to show off his rapping skills.

The 29-year-old rocked out to an original rap called Roses, which Guy labelled 'a slam dunk'.

'We've never seen anything like that,' the former Australian Idol singer said.

Also back in the running is 16-year-old Maddison, who was eliminated during the home visit round last season. 

Her performance of Sam Smith's Writing On The Wall earned her the title of 'absolute diva' from Iggy.
