And it seems the secret to her popularity lies with mums everywhere, who have proclaimed their support for the 35-year-old by posting selfies dressed up in her signature sunglasses and cap.

After Honey G stepped out in a gold tracksuit, hat, and shades on Saturday, mums everywhere have started to emulate her.

And it seems they have a certain talent for looking uncannily like the rapper - and those with dark straight hair proved all it took was a sports jacket and some attitude.

Honey G, who has been seen as this year's token comedy act, was mercilessly mocked online for her rendition of Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise during the Judges Houses stage - but the song was enough to please judge Sharon.

And the unhappy family of unsuccessful X Factor contestant Samantha Atkinson have weighed in on the furore, starting a petition to have Honey G booted from the show.

Samantha lost out on a place at the Judge's Houses stage of the competition, when Sharon Osbourne opted for controversial contestant Honey G instead.

And within hours of the petition going live last week, it reached its goal of 5000 signatures.
