'They've found a way to bend the rules': 'Sexually frustrated' Emily Middlemas and Ryan Lawrie 'get frisky on the stairs in X Factor mansion'

A sex ban and separate bedrooms have been keeping them apart.

But singing hopefuls Emily Middlemas, 18, and Ryan Lawrie, 20, have reportedly found a way to get around their sexual frustrations inside the X Factor mansion.

According to The Sun, the lovebirds have been 'getting frisky' on the stairs, much to the dismay of the other contestants.

'They're banned from going in each other's rooms, an inside told the paper. 'So have found a way to bend the rules and head to the stairs for their hook-ups instead when they think all the other contestants are asleep.'

It is also believed that the behaviour is causing an 'uncomfortable' atmosphere for the other finalists.

The source continue: 'Ryan can't keep his hands off Emily and they're always kissing and cuddling in the house and during rehearsals – it's creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for the finalists.

A representative for X Factor has been contacted for comment, but MailOnline is yet to receive a response.

Last night saw Louis Walsh's act Brattavio crash out of the competition, after losing in the Sing Off to Saara Alto.

It's the second of Louis' acts to be forced out of The Groups category in one weekend after Brooks Way were suspended when Josh was accused of physically harming an ex-girlfriend.

Ryan and Emily have already admitted that they have become quite dependent on each other.

In an interview this weekend, Ryan even admitted that he likes to think of Emily as someone he'll marry and have children with one day.

Emily and Ryan, both originally from Scotland, have been dating for around nine months, though they first met four years ago.

They were forced to 'fast-forward' their relationship this month when the final 12 moved into a shared home in London to facilitate rehearsal time - but the couple are not allowed to share a room.

There is also a sex ban imposed on the house to help the contestants concentrate on the competition.

Speaking about the sex ban, Ryan insisted: 'We wouldn't do that anyway. It's just professionalism, isn't it?'

Ryan originally returned to this year's X Factor as the wildcard contestant, while Emily got a second chance after being eliminated at Judges' Houses back in 2014.

The comeback kids soon struck up a bond when they found themselves on the same gig circuit and the duo live around 20 minutes from each other at home in Scotland.

Their romance was brought to light when they exchanged an array of cute snaps and good luck messages during the Six-Chair Challenge stages of this year's competition.
