Fernando Alonso is currently preparing for the Japanese Grand Prix by serving sushi to his McLaren team-mate Jenson Button.

Alonso has been getting into the Japanese spirit by making some sushi for the British driver, who will be taking a year out from the sport next year.

The two-time world champion took to Instagram on Thursday to post a photo of him serving sushi to Button.

The Spanish driver might be called Nando but on this evidence, it looks like he prefers raw fish to chicken.

Button, who doesn't look too impressed by Alonso's sushi effort, also posted the photo on Instagram with the caption: 'Fun times, not sure about the sushi chef though.'

Well if for some reason Button fails to race at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday, then we know who to blame.

Alonso seems to be loving life in Japan at the moment. The McLaren driver also posted a photo of him travelling on the Metro on Wednesday.

Alonso is currently down in 10th position in the Formula One drivers' standings with 42 points. With five races to go, he finds himself 246 points behind leader Nico Rosberg. 

Meanwhile, Alonso's team-mate has fared no better this season, picking up just 19 points in total. 

The McLaren pair will be hoping to perform well at the Suzuka circuit on Sunday afternoon.
