Bupa ready to bid for Oasis Healthcare after talks with dentistry chain's management and shareholders
Bupa is understood to have held talks with Oasis's management and shareholders
Bupa is considering launching a takeover bid for dentistry chain Oasis Healthcare.
The private healthcare giant is understood to have held preliminary talks with Oasis's management and shareholders about a possible deal.
The acquisition of the private-equity owned business would further bolster Bupa's growing network of dental practices.
In 2014 it bought London's Barbican Dental Care, and two years previously snapped up a major chain of dental practices in Australia.
The Oasis bid would follow a series of major deals in the fragmented sector, which is worth about £7billion in the UK.
Oasis has more than 300 dental practices across the UK and is led by former Marks & Spencer boss Lord Rose as chairman, and chief executive Justin Ash, a former UK general manager for KFC.
Bupa declined to comment.
