Mia wore a short crocheted white gown with long sleeves, while Shia opted for a smart black suit with white button hole.

The pair looked delighted in pictures from the ceremony, which showed them embrace in front of a flower-decked altar.

In the video footage of Shia and Mia's big day, the two entered the chapel to the sound of an Elvis Presely song, performed by the impersonator.

They danced happily, before getting serious - and exchanging  some rather unusual vows.

Said Shia to Mia: 'With this ring; I thee wed; With a prayer; that our love grows stronger; through the passing years.'

Prompted by 'Elvis', who seemed rather hurried, the 30-year-old finished with a laugh and the words: 'And I'll do whatever you ask me to do.'

The couple also promised not to wear their blue sues shoes in the rain, and to love each other 'like a hunka burning love'

English actress Mia, 23, donned a lace veil over her hair, to say her vows to Shia with a trembling voice.

'I give you this ring; as a token and pledge; of our vows to each other; praying that our love; shall never fade,' she said.

Then she smiled as she repeated: 'And I'm pretty much going to do whatever I want.'

The couple also promised to adopt one another's hounddogs, not to wear their blue sues shoes in the rain, to be 'one another's teddy bear' and to love each other 'like a hunka hunka burning love'.

They then shared a long lingering kiss as a few friends applauded before Elvis burst back into song.

The Viva Las Vegas chapel offers wedding for as little as $275, although with extras, such as live-streaming and Elvis, the cost soon mounts.

Shia and Mia have been dating for four years, since meeting on the set of their controversial movie Nymphomaniac: Volume II.

But despite the happy scenes in Vegas, their relationship has not always been a sunny one.

Back in July last year, the pair were captured on film fighting in a German street.

The Transformers star was apparently trying to leave to go to the airport, and his girlfriend took his backpack in a bid to get him to stay.

Shia was overheard saying: 'I don't want to touch a woman, I don't want to hit a woman,' and threatening to 'kill' Mia.

The two later patched things up.
