Chelsea strike target Lavezzi set to shun Premier League move in favour of new Napoli contract

Chelsea are set to miss out on Ezequiel Lavezzi as the Argentina striker is on the verge of signing a lucrative new contract with Napoli.

The 23-year-old has been claiming since November that the Premier League club were interested in him.

Lavezzi will extend his deal at Napoli until 2014, trippling his wages to almost £60,000 a week.

Real Madrid had been linked with a £40million January move for the former Genoa player and he is also said to be on Manchester United's radar
