But when stopping by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Monday, no one was listening to Taraji P Henson as she promoted her new book Around The Way Girl: A Memoir.

Rather, all the attention was on the 46-year-old Empire actress' chest which almost spilled out of her naughty dress.

Earlier in the day she sat down with Good Day New York.

The 46-year-old actress was asked about one of the lines in the memoir, 'The joy of living in your own truth.'

The actress pointed to her Truth tattoo and said: 'You can't be afraid of your past, or ashamed about it, because that's what makes you who you are today. Life isn't easy. As humans we're all beautifully flawed. No human is perfect.'

The inspiring book is a story about family, friends and the hustle required to make it from DC to Hollywood.  

Taraji writes about her father, a Vietnam vet who was bowed but never broken by life's challenges, and of her mother who survived violence both in the home and on DC's volatile streets. 

She also opens up about her experiences as a single mother to her teenage son Marcel Johnson, something she views as a gift.

She reflects on her time spent at Howard University and the pitfalls and struggles that come with being a black actress.

And when asked what fans can expect to see on upcoming episodes of Empire, she said, 'You'll see some family members moving to the dark side.' 

Taraji went on to say: 'This seasons pretty heavy, pretty heavy, very dramatic.' 

She stars as the ex-wife of former drug dealer turned hip-hop mogul, Lucious Lyon, played by Terrence Howard.

That isn't all the talented actress has going on.

The mother of one has several films she has been working on that are set to be released in 2017. 

One of her upcoming films is titled Acrimony. The plot of the comedy, drama is currently being kept under wraps though.
