Mila Kunis' Bad Moms movie is getting a spin off called Bad Dads which is set for a 2017 release
It was only a matter of time. And not much of it either.
Bad Moms will get a gender-flipped spin off next year entitled Bad Dads, it was announced on Monday by distributors STX Entertainment.
The Mila Kunis comedy was one of the year's cinema success stories, raking in $180 million off a production budget of just $20 million.
Here's to the Bad Dads! Bad Moms is to get gender-flipped spin off in 2017 after making $180m at the box office
The original saw Mila's overworked and over-committed mom-of-two struggling to balance her kids, career, housework and PTA duties, enforced by the domineering Christina Applegate and her cronies, Jada Pinkett Smith and Annie Mumolo.
When she finally cracks and quits the PTA, she links up with Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Bell to adopt a more laid back - and alcohol-inclusive - approach to parenting.
Casting for the dad spin-off has yet to be announced, and it is set to hit cinemas by July 2017.

Instead it said it was building on the brand with a number of different platforms, including a 'series of spin-offs'.
'Where other studios have automatically green lit traditional and significantly more expensive sequels, STX has determined those sequels on average are grossing 68 per cent less than the originals,' it said in a statement.
'Instead, STX has chosen to focus on extending consumer passion for the Bad Moms brand with a series of film spin-offs, a reality television show, short form digital content, and a robust consumer products program.'

Nice try: While the Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon reboot made $228million of its $144million budget, it was considered a box office let down

That hasn't however stopped Disney remaking the 1984 classic comedy Splash, with Channing Tatum's merman replacing Daryl Hannah's mermaid.
