Now THAT'S a statement piece! Melania dons a bold Gucci 'pussy-bow' blouse to support her husband after slapping him down over 'p***ygate' as she joins all the Trump women for debate night

  • Melania Trump wore a $1,100 Gucci pussy-bow silk crepe de chine shirt for Sunday night's debate
  • Days earlier, the 46-year-old condemned her husband's use of the word in a 2005 leaked video
  • Ivanka Trump returned to the forefront of her father's campaign after days of silence on the subject
  • She was typically polished in a fitted green dress and dazzled Bill Clinton upon her arrival

One condemned him and the other gave deafening silence when his admittedly offensive comments towards women threatened to kill his political career on Friday.

By Sunday, however, Donald Trump's two most valuable advocates had come back to bat for him.

His wife Melania made a majestic entrance to Washington University in St Louis, Missouri, to watch him square off against Hillary Clinton

She was dressed in a hot pink pussy bow blouse, a questionable choice given it was her husband's command of the word in a 2005 video tape that sparked her public denouncing of him days earlier.

A bold choice: Melania Trump opted for a pussy-bow blouse to appear at her husband's presidential debate days after she condemned his use of the word as 'unacceptable and offensive'

The $1,100 Gucci  silk crepe de chine shirt and the significance of its name was no doubt low on the family's list of priorities for the night but certainly raised eyebrows.

In matching trousers and with her hair perfectly coiffed, the 46-year-old former model bounded in to the debate with her head held high.

She smiled warmly when greeting Bill Clinton, not spending too long shaking the former president's hand before taking her seat.

Ivanka Trump, the candidate's daughter and perhaps crucial surrogate, followed.

She was dressed in a fitted emerald green dress, her blonde locks tied off her face and with a less heavy-handed application of make-up.

It was her first appearance, and the first indicator of her unwavering support for her father, since Friday's release of his remarks.

A colorful selection: Melania's choice of wardrobe, though likely unintentional, raised eyebrows with its tongue-in-cheek name

Grab the crowd’s attention in a pussy bow like Melania

Melania Trump caused quite a stir at the Second Presidential Debate in her attention grabbing blouse. This bright pink top features a pussybow style neck tie and is from Italian power house, Gucci.

This fashion forward blouse is perfect for many occasions! Pair with trousers and pumps for work, or with a beaded skirt for a night out. The high neckline will add a posh touch, while its vibrant color will be sure to get the crowd going!

Gucci's new campaign focuses on gender fluid styles so this top is also perfect for menswear. We recommend pairing with Gucci fur loafers to really amp up the lounge luxe appeal.

Like her stepmother, Ivanka graciously greeted Bill Clinton upon her arrival. She was well received; the politician beamed and gently gripped her hand while they exchanged pleasantries.

Behind them followed Trump's two adult sons, Donald Jr and Eric.

Both Melania and Ivanka remained poised throughout the debate, maintaining their steely expressions while the audience laughed and gasped at some of Trump's claims.

They became its subject when, asked to name one thing each candidate liked about the other, Hillary Clinton gushed over Trump's high-achieving brood.

'I respect his children. His children are capable and devoted, and I think that says a lot about Donald.

'I don't agree with nearly anything else he says or does, but I do respect that,' she said.

Earlier in the week Melania Trump joined scores of others in condemning her husband's comment that he could grab women by the p**** because he was famous.

'The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me.

'This does not represent the man that I know. He has the heart and mind of a leader.

'I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world,' she said in a statement later issued.

Ivanka Trump remained silent on the subject. She made no public comment on Saturday either when old tapes of her father allowing Howard Stern to refer to her as a 'piece of ass' and remarking that she was 'voluptuous' emerged.
