She now tours the country doing a cabaret act.

Supergirl sees its season premiere on Monday on the CW. Tyler Hoechlin is shown for the first time as Superman.

Carter recently talked to CloserWeekly about the Wonder Woman character turning 75-years-old.

'Wonder Woman taught women to be who you are. I have received the greatest letters from people telling me what an inspiration she was to them because she represents an inner strength every woman has,' she said.

Lynda did admit she wasn't feeling so confident in 1975, as her series almost didn't make the cut.

'TV executives didn't think there was a market for a female holding a show like Wonder Woman,' the lounge singer said.

'Women were buying all their products, yet men dominated the shows.'

However, thankfully once the show debuted it was enjoyed by both sexes.

And clearly the character isn't going anywhere just yet. Gal Gadot played her in the recent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film.

And the United Nations is declaring October 21 as Wonder Woman Day to celebrate the birth of the Amazonian heroine in DC Comics 75 years ago.
