Revealed: The two adorable girls who charmed the country with their lost rule book full of 157 do's and don'ts
The child authors behind a notebook full of written rules that charmed the nation after it was discovered in a Walmart parking lot have been revealed as 10-year-old Isabelle Busath and eight-year-old Isabella Thordsen.
The girls are cousins and best friends and they were horrified when they lost their little red notebook, which contained a detailed list of 157 rules guiding good and bad behavior. (The rules were mostly aimed at their bothersome little sisters, they said.)
'I felt like, "oh my gosh, I hope I get it back soon,"' said Isabella, who had unknowingly lost it in a Walmart parking lot in Sacramento.

The rules include, 'don't color on people,' 'don't get into other people's business,' 'don't call each other names, 'don't bite the dentist' and 'no eating other people's food'
Fortunately for the girls, Walmart employee Raymond Flores found the notebook and then made it a goal to track down the authors of the adorable list of rules.
'They put a lot of hard work into it,' Flores told Fox40. 'These rules mean a lot to them and probably to the parents, as well.'
Flores was right.
Emails poured into the local Fox affiliate in Sacramento after the station reported on the book. People across the country said they were ouched by the girls' candid perspectives on good and bad behavior.

Rules include 'Don't text and drive at the same time' and 'No toys at the table'
Other rules include 'Tie your shoes or you will fall,' 'No elbows on the table,' and 'Chew with your mouth closed'
Flores brought the book to the girls' home and they were ecstatic to have it back - and shocked at how it became so popular all across the country.
'For just a little book with a bunch of rules in it - Wow,' Isabella told Fox40.
She said she came up with the idea for the book and decided that 'whoever breaks [a rule] has to sit at the door for five minutes - and so we came up with all these good rules.'
The rules sparked so much interest that the girls have even been offered a book deal for their list of rules.
'It's kind of overwhelming,' said Sarah Tatarakis, Isabella's mother.

Isabelle's mom said the girls are always creating. She said her daughter has 'been writing books before she could even write'
Isabelle's mom, Michelle Busath, said the girls are always creating.
She said her daughter has 'been writing books before she could even write.'
'She would scribble on a piece of paper then tell me what it says,' she said.
Additional rules in their book include 'don't leave your friends behind,' 'no texting and driving at the same time,' 'don't keep saying please if someone says no' and 'try to make things fair.'
Hero: Walmart employee Raymond Flores, who found the book, made it a goal to track down its authors
Flores said he has taken to heart some of the more insightful advice.
'One of [the rules] is go to bed early if you have dance in the morning,' Flores said. 'That applies to more than just dance. If you have work, school, anything important; just prioritize.'
It's cool to follow the rules, Isabelle said.
'If you follow the rules, you have have fun more,' she said.
