He's got the write stuff! Russell Brand reveals scrawled gags on his hand as he exits theatre after completing latest gig on 'intimate, experimental' tour

He’s known for wearing his heart on his sleeve, but outspoken Russell Brand had something rather more tangible scrawled below his wrist during an appearance in London on Monday evening.

The versatile actor and comedian, 41, made an exit from Covent Garden’s Fortune Theatre after entertaining fans on the latest stage of his Trewly Live Tour – an intimate, experimental show that has given Brand an opportunity to début new material.

Given the unpolished nature of his latest tour, previously described as a work in progress, the verbose star still sported a series of handwritten prompts on his hand as he made his way towards a waiting car.

Brand looked preoccupied while chatting on his phone, but his detachment did not prevent a fan offering the comedian a warm embrace.

The star will take to the stage again in Hayes on Thursday evening as he continues to preview his latest series of  topical gags.

Elsewhere Brand has reportedly become engaged to his girlfriend Laura Gallacher, who is thought to be pregnant.

Brand previously hinted at impending fatherhood by posting a photograph of himself on his Instagram account peeking out from behind a book titled The Expectant Dad's Handbook.

The caption alongside the photograph reads: 'Right then. My Mum bought me this. Time to get ready! #trewlit #bookstagram #parenting.'
