Wigan star Pat Richards ready to make first Super League appearance of season

Reigning Man of Steel Pat Richards is set to make his first Super League appearance since October's Grand Final after being named in Wigan coach Michael Maguire's 19-man squad for the visit of Catalan Dragons on Friday.

The goalkicking winger has been sidelined since rupturing his Achilles in the Warriors' 22-10 victory over St Helens at Old Trafford but made his comeback in the club's under-20s team last weekend.

'He's doing really well,' said Maguire. 'If he gets through this week's training, we will be putting him in.'

Maguire has called up 20-year-old prop Dominic Crosby, who has yet to play in Super League, following the loss of Jeff Lima with a one-match ban.

Catalan coach Trent Robinson has decided against bringing in half-back Thomas Bosc, who has completed his rehabilitation from knee surgery and made his comeback for the club's reserves last weekend.

Bosc linked up with the Dragons at their Manchester base yesterday but has not been named in their 19-man squad.

'We're happy to wait for Thomas to get back and feeling good,' said Robinson.

'We don't want to rush him back and put him under pressure. Hopefully in the next few weeks he will be right.'

Australian scrum half Scott Dureau, who was knocked out during the Catalans' 22-20 win at Warrington on Sunday and taken to hospital for x-rays on his neck, will play after making a quick recovery.
