A video has emerged of Billy Bush joking about a 'Topless Maids' service being the ideal Father's Day present.

The embattled TV anchor has been suspended from the Today show for vulgar comments he made with Donald Trump about groping women and trying to seduce a married woman.

He has since apologized for the comments, saying he was young and immature at the time.

In a statement he said: 'Obviously I'm embarrassed and ashamed. It's no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago - I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I'm very sorry.'

He has since deleted his Twitter account but his verified Instagram is still active.

The 'Topless Maids' video was on his Instagram feed but was hastily deleted after it was picked up by news outlets.

Standing in front of a Topless Maids van he jokes 'Happy Father's Day to me...three kids, beautiful wife...she always asks me what you want for Father's Day. I don't know, come up with something!'

Bush, the nephew of former president George H W Bush, George W Bush and Jeb Bush's cousin, only joined the Today team in August.

He had previously been anchor of Access Hollywood and co-host of Access Hollywood Live.

He allegedly spent time boasting about the tape while he was with his NBC colleagues covering the Rio Olympics this summer.

It was apparently his bragging that prompted staff at his former show, Access Hollywood, to track down the tape.

According to Page Six, Bush told numerous people at a party in Brazil he had a 'tape of Trump being a real dog'.

But when the tape was first leaked to the Washington Post on Friday and it became clear how damaging it was, he 'cried that his career was over' according to an insider.

'Access Hollywood' also said its producers examined the show's hundreds of Trump interviews following an Associated Press story earlier this week in which former cast and crew members of 'The Apprentice' recounted lewd and sexist comments made by Trump.

In the 2005 video, Mr Trump was on a bus talking to Mr Bush - then host of NBC's Access Hollywood - ahead of a segment they were about to record.

As Trump tells a story about hitting on a married woman - Bush's then co-host Nancy O'Dell - he brags 'I'll admit it. I did try and f*** her ... I moved on her like a b****, I couldn't get there though, and she was married' as Bush chortles and says 'This is huge news!'

As they arrived at the studio, Bush spotted an actress, Arianne Zucker, who was to accompany them onto the set.

'Sheesh, your girl's hot as (expletive). In the purple,' Bush said, referring to the color of Zucker's dress. 'Whoa, the Donald has scored! Whoa, my man!'

Trump then says he needs some Tic-Tacs in case he starts kissing her.

'I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. When you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything.'

'Whatever you want,' Bush replies.

'Grab 'em by the pu**y. You can do anything.'

'Uh yeah, those legs, all I can see is the legs,' says Bush.

After they get off the bus, Bush encourages Zucker to hug Trump.

'How about a little hug for the Donald? He just got off the bus,' Bush says, adding, 'How about a little hug for the Bushy?'

Bush could also be investigated for possible workplace sexual harassment because of the comments made about his former co-host O'Dell.

Trump later apologized for the comments, saying: 'This was locker-room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course - not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.'

Top Republicans have condemned Trump for the comments, yet some have defended 'the Donald'.

Senator Jeff Sessions said 'grabbing a woman by the p***y' did 'not amount to sexual assault.

He said: 'I think that's a stretch. I don't know what he meant.'

His election rival Hillary Clinton called them 'horrific'.

Bush has been suspended indefinitely as NBC News reviews the situation. He has been replaced by Carson Daly.

In an internal memo to staff, Today executive Noah Oppenheim said there was 'simply no excuse for Billy's language and behaviour on that tape'.

Oppenheim said there would be a 'further review' of the situation. He did not clarify how long the suspension stood for.
