No less glam, of course, was Rita - who sported a blue velvet gown for a classy approach to the evening.

Sleeveless in design, embelished with jewels and featuring a high neckline, she too looked younger than her years.

Adding some platform shoes in black, she kept her make-up simple for a dewy complexion.

Exude glamour in a velvet dress by Prada

Tom Hanks may be the star of his latest film, Inferno, but at the premiere in Berlin, his wife Rita stole the show when she wore a Prada dress on the red carpet.

Pulled from the Fall 2016 collection, the velvet stunner was adorned with gold beads and embellishments for an otherworldly, celestial vibe.

The sleeveless silhouette and midi length showed just the right amount of skin and Rita wisely teamed her frock with a pair of platform pumps.

Since velvet is the fabric du jour of the season, we expect to see a lot more of this plush look in the months to come. So get ahead of the fash pack and shop a velvet dress of your own now.

Rita's exact number is a custom piece, but Net-A-Porter has a long sleeve rendition available so click through to their website (right) to scoop it up now.

They were also joined by co-stars Tom Hanks, Ana Ularu and Omar Sy as well as director Ron Howard.

But it was Felicity Jones who probably caused the biggest stir thanks to her flirtatiously semi-sheer dress.
