- 'There is no room for objectification of women, or anybody for that matter, not even in the 'locker room', said O'Dell
- In a 2005 tape Trump can be heard talking about how he wanted to 'f***' O'Dell, and then mocking her by claiming she has 'big phony t***'
- Trump later apologized saying it was all just 'locker room talk'
- Billy Bush, O'Dell's former Access Hollywood co-host, was suspended from his new job at Today after the tape emerged
Nancy O'Dell addressed the comments made by Donald Trump about her during a 2005 Access Hollywood interview on Monday evening's episode of Entertainment Tonight.
'I feel it's very important that I address you all directly. As a journalist for 26 years now, it is my job to bring you news about others, rather than turning the focus on myself,' said O'Dell.
'But by now, I'm sure that most of you have heard the audio tape which became national news and part of the presidential race.'
She went on to say: 'My name was mentioned and, unfortunately, the release of it has thrown me into the middle of the political arena of which I didn't ask to be a part.
'I released a statement on Saturday and I truly mean what I said. There is no room for objectification of women, or anybody for that matter, not even in the 'locker room'.'

Speaking up: Nancy O'Dell (above) lashed out at Donald Trump over the comments he made about her in a 2005 video
Husband and wife: 'There is no room for objectification of women, or anybody for that matter, not even in the 'locker room',' said O'Dell (above interviewing Donald and Melania in 2004)
In the 2005 tape, Trump can be heard talking about a woman he calls 'Nancy' that was later revealed to be O'Dell.
She was the host of Access Hollywood at the time alongside Billy Bush.
'I did try and f*** her. She was married,' Trump tells Bush on the tapes, the transcript of which was first published by The Washington Post on Friday.
'And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, "I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture."'
Trump went on to say: 'I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married.
'Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.'
Trump later apologized for the comments, saying on Friday: 'This was locker-room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course -- not even close. I apologize if anyone was offended.'
He referred to his comments as 'locker room talk' again when pressed by Anderson Cooper during Sunday night's debate in St. Louis.
Punishment: Billy Bush, O'Dell's former Access Hollywood co-host, was suspended from his new job at Today after the tape emerged (pictured together)
Bush also released a statement on Friday, saying: 'Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago. I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I'm very sorry.'
He has been suspended from his position as the anchor of the third hour of Today in the wake of the tape's release.
O'Dell also released a statement over the weekend, saying: 'Politics aside, I’m saddened that these comments still exist in our society at all. When I heard the comments yesterday, it was disappointing to hear such objectification of women.
'The conversation needs to change because no female, no person, should be the subject of such crass comments, whether or not cameras are rolling. Everyone deserves respect no matter the setting or gender.
'As a woman who has worked very hard to establish her career, and as a mom, I feel I must speak out with the hope that as a society we will always strive to be better.'
She will address the scandal in more detail on Entertainment Tonight this Monday.
