'If it was a bunch of guys, everyone would love them': Australian Survivor's Brooke Jowett slams 'mean girl' label as sexist amid death threats

She was unceremoniously booted off Australian Survivor by her closest ally this week.

And just days after Brooke Jowett revealed she has been subject to death threats, due to her ties to the controversial 'mean girls' alliance on the show, the 23-year-old former contestant has called out her critics for what she believes to be blatant sexism.

During an appearance on Tuesday night's edition of The Project, the Melbourne Sales Executive, who aligned herself with El Rowland and Felicity 'Flick' Egginton, said that if they were men, their alliance would not have been questioned.

'... I think that people are just so scared of the thought of three girls in power, If it was a bunch of guys, everyone would love them,' she said.

'I'm really disappointed that's how people view us but I guess it says something about Australian society.'

Her comments come after she revealed she has been subject to death threats on social media.

'The comments I'm getting are disgusting,' she told The Daily Telegraph.

After being voted off the remote Samoan island during Monday night's episode, Brooke admitted to News Corp that she feels 'betrayed' by Flick, who blindsided her with a deciding vote.

'I was in shock for a long time. I just remember being absolutely betrayed by Flick,' she said.

'I know it's a game, but you still feel so betrayed.

She added: 'She was someone I had been working with the whole game, and I had helped her out on so many times, including saving her on day 12 ... I just feel betrayed.'

The shocking move to vote out Brooke came as the Channel Ten reality TV show approaches the finale, in which one castaway will take home the $500,000 prize money.

Flick betrayed Brooke and voted her off, claiming Brooke's power in the game had gone to her head and made her 'greedy.'

Brooke went into tribal council thinking her alliance was strong after Flick told her original Saanapu tribe alliance members, consisting of Brooke, Matt and Sam, that she planned to vote for El.

The group were planning to vote Lee off, but he won the immunity challenge.

Flick went along with what they were planning, but chose to side with the smaller alliance of El, Lee and Kristie to vote Brooke out of the competition.

While Brooke insisted that she 'doesn't hold grudges,' she admitted she'll have a hard time forgiving Flick after the blindside.

'I think that I made the move at the right time, but maybe I made the move with the wrong people,' she said on the show.

She added: 'I'm quite sure the person who stabbed me in the back was Flick.'

Flick said she 'loved' both El and Brooke but her decision came down to wanting to win the game and the prize money.

'I want to win this game… So tonight, I think it's going to be the biggest blindside in survivor history,' Flick said to camera.

Lee found out from Flick and El that he would be sent home if he didn't win immunity and he felt betrayed by his pal Sam.

'I feel pretty disappointed. I'm not really surprised with Brooke. But very surprised with Sam,' Lee said.

'This is the first time on Survivor that mateship and trust and honesty, for me, has been jeopardised, and, you know, I take it pretty personally.'

Meanwhile, Sam said Lee getting immunity made him 'feel relieved' but he was determined to break up Lee and El's alliance, calling them the 'power couple.'
