One woman has found a perfect way not to let her wedding dress go to waste - by wearing it again and again.

Samantha Burns, from Cambridge, Massachusetts, is so attached to the dress that she has worn it golfing, taste-testing fudge, munching pancakes, and dancing on a river cruise, all on the anniversary of her tying the knot.

As the day and the dress were so special to her, she did not want to let the magic go.

Samantha, 30, said: "I thought of the idea the day of our wedding when I didn't want to take off my dress. I wanted to keep the magic of our special day going.

"It represents our marriage, the vows we took on our own wedding day, and the anniversary feel very special.

"Playing golf was probably the most entertaining because we love to play together and I drew quite a crowd at the driving range!

"This year we took a sunset dinner cruise around the Boston harbour on a Wednesday night and had the dance floor to ourselves, which was fun and special.

"My husband is a good sport and he lets me be me, which is why I love him.

"My family and friends think it's a fun way to celebrate and know that I'm a pretty bubbly and outgoing person, so it fits within my character."

But it's not only family and friends who like the idea. Samantha, a relationship coach and 'millennial love expert,' also gets shout outs from passers-by and compliments from clients.

She said: "Some passers-by yell out 'congratulations,' and my husband has started responding that it's our anniversary tradition.

"That usually catches them by surprise so they ask how long we've been married, or tell us about their own anniversary traditions."

Samantha and Darren met online and hit it off straight away, and anniversaries quickly took on a large significance in their relationship.

Their first date was at a sushi restaurant, and exactly one year later they got engaged to each other.

Samantha said: "We took a non-traditional approach to our wedding and had an intimate ceremony in the sun room of my parent's house with about twenty family members and close friends.

"My parents got married in my grandmother's house, so I wanted to carry on the tradition.

Some of her research for her business is also at the heart of her wedding dress tradition.

She said: "Though it may seem like a silly tradition, there's actually science to support why creating fun customs like this help you keep that spark burning bright in your relationship.

"Spontaneity, surprise, taking risks, and exploring the unknown, all of which happen when you have an adventure in your gown, activate the reward centre in your brain.

"Herein lies the magic of the wedding dress tradition!"
