Somebody didn't get the memo! Vic Reeves and his twin daughters coordinate in double denim at museum bash... while wife Nancy Sorrell opts for black minidress

During the course of his enduring career he has endeared himself to countless fans thanks to his offbeat comedic skills.

But Vic Reeves, 57, drew attention for sartorial reasons on Tuesday evening, as he boldly stepped out in double denim during a family excursion in London.

Arriving at the opening of Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery at the Science Museum, the star was perfectly coordinated with his twin daughters Elizabeth and Nell - but his wife Nancy Sorrell appeared to have missed the dress code memo.

As she posed with her adorable 10-year-old offspring and her famous husband, Nancy looked almost out of place as she dressed her slender figure in a black minidress with a red-and-white hemline.

Throwing a stylish beige raincoat over her dress, the 42-year-old blonde beauty slightly covered her enviably svelte legs with a pair of long black boots.

For his part, Yorkshireman Vic stepped out in a faded denim jacket with matching cuffed jeans, which he teamed with a striped shirt and brown Chelsea boots.

The bespectacled star's daughters matched their denim jackets with a dress and cuffed shorts, respectively, as they enjoyed a night exploring scientific wonders.

Nancy and Vic - real name James Roderick Moir - tied the knot in a lavish and romantic ceremony back in 2003.

Speaking about her marriage some 12 years later, model, actress and TV presenter Nancy admitted that she was perfectly content with the comedian.

Talking to Now magazine about the day Vic proposed, she said: 'He asked me to marry him in The Groucho Club in Dean Street, London. It was lovely.

'He said: "I’ve brought you something from my holiday," and he placed a cheap shell bracelet on my wrist and laughed.

'Then he said: "I’ve got you something else too." And there it was a tiny box with a beautiful engagement ring inside. I was the happiest girl in the world and I still am.'

As well as the twin girls she has with Vic, Nancy is also stepmother of his two children from his previous marriage to Sarah Vincent.
