A downpour of rain has failed to dampen Princess Mary's spirits.

The Australian-born royal was attending the 20th anniversary of the Danish Psychiatry Foundation when she got caught in the shower.

Sheltered under a large umbrella, which was held for her, the mother-of-four continued to smile as she made her way through the rain and inside.

The anniversary event for the Psychiatry Foundation was held on October 10, which is World Mental Health Day.

According to My New Royals, the Mary has been a patron of the Danish Mental Health Foundation since 2005.

World Mental Health Day focuses on education, awareness and advocacy for mental health.

Mary attended the event in a black striped woven skirt by Chloe.

She paired the knee-length skirt with a navy top and matching navy trench, which appeared to be covered in drops of rain. 

She finished the look with a pair of tights and black pumps.

The event was held on the same day Mary attended the 2016 ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology) Congress, also in Copenhagen. 

The princess changed between events, opting instead to wear a short-sleeved grey Hugo Boss blouse over a black turtleneck to attend the Congress.

There Mary took time to meet with a number of researchers and practitioners in oncology from around the world and heard about new research and the most effective advancements in cancer treatment.
