The sheriff's office said it had located the vehicle it believed was involved in the incident, which was registered to Luth's wife.

Luth also has a young child and his Facebook page says he studied at Full Sail University, in Orange County, Florida.

Newman-Caddell's Facebook page says he works at Texas Roadhouse, a steak restaurant.

Cops say the suspects followed the woman, who is a deputy sheriff and in her early 20s, from a QuikTrip market at E. Santa Fe and South Ridgeview to the county jail parking lot at 101 N. Kansas Avenue in Olathe and then kidnapped her about 11.30pm on Friday.

The victim, who had been on the job about six months, was in civilian clothing and on her way to work. She was abducted while getting out of her car in the booking facility's parking lot and blindfolded, according to KCTV5.

They reportedly released her around 1.15am, instructing her to keep her head covered before they drove off.

She was freed in a dark and remote area near Interstate 470 and Northeast Woods Chapel Road and staggered until she saw the lights of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in Lee's Summit.

Cops believe the suspects did not know the victim, but had planned the attack.

'I do believe there was some planning premeditation for lack of a better word,' said Captain Brian Hill at a press conference.

Surveillance camera footage showed the men sitting in a blue vehicle in the parking lot of the QuikTrip and then following the victim as she drove away.

'It appears evident to us that although they may not have been specifically looking for our victim, they were looking for a victim,' said Hill.

The victim is 'doing okay' said Sheriff Frank Denning 'all things considered' and added that she was able to help in the investigation.
