'What the hell are we waiting for?' Actor Simon Baker, Rebecca Rigg and Ellie Goulding are latest stars to back Say I Do Down Under campaign for marriage equality founded by Kylie Minogue's fiancé Joshua Sasse

It's the Australian campaign that went global after just a few days.

And less than a week after American media personality Ellen DeGeneres voiced her support for Joshua Sasse and Kylie Minogue's Say I Do Down Under Campaign, actor Simon Baker, 47, and his wife Rebecca Rigg, 48, have also backed the campaign.

The married couple of 16 years were pictured sporting campaign T-shirts on Tuesday in an Instagram post that directly called on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to legalise same-sex marriage in Australia.

British pop star Ellie Goulding, 29, also backed the campaign this week by sporting a campaign T-shirt and on Wednesday, radio hosts Rove McManus and Sam Frost followed suit.

The overwhelming support comes days after talk-show host Ellen made the campaign's logo an emoji in her app.

Appearing on Sunrise on Thursday, Joshua announced: 'I wanted to tell you today on her behalf and our behalf that until this law has passed in Australia, we will not be getting married.'

He also said: 'Why are we anymore important than anybody else? It's not right, something has to be done about it.'

Joshua and Kylie were rumoured to be tying the knot in the singer's native Melbourne later this year, but the date will now be dependent on the government's actions.

The pair met last year when the Spinning Around hitmaker guest starred on her beau's TV drama Galavant.

They announced their engagement in an official post in the UK's Daily Telegraph in February.
