In the hour after she fell, Tostee paced the nearby streets before noticing a swarm of police surrounding his unit (inset) and calling his father Gray to pick him up just after 3am. He told his father Ms Wright continually 'beat him' so he forced her onto the balcony where she 'might have jumped'. Tostee has pleaded not guilty to killing the New Zealand tourist and fronted Brisbane Supreme Court for the third day of his trial on Wednesday.

Police video shows Vincent Stanford, 25, (left outside court, right during his confession video) explaining in chilling detail the day he murdered Leeton High School teacher Stephanie Scott, 26, (inset) in April 2015 before dumping her body. Standford revealed calmly to police that he felt no emotion on the day he murdered the young woman, other than the urge that he 'had to kill her'. 'I picked her up from behind with my right hand over her mouth and my left hand around her middle, I dragged her into the store, I closed the door behind us, chucked her on the floor and I beat her to death,' Stanford told detectives.

Shenee Sopp (pictured) is subjected to laughter, stares and people taking photos of her when venturing out in public in Australia. But she says in Bali, where her boyfriend (right) is from, she is treated normally. She wants the public to understand that people with dwarfism are like everyone else, just smaller, and to treat them with respect.

An angry judge has admonished Salim Mehajer (right)for texting in court before dismissing his bid to overturn an apprehended violence order banning him from approaching the father of a Lindt Cafe siege survivor. 'I would appreciate it Mr Mehajer if you put your phone away and stopped texting on it. It would be a good idea,' Judge Paul Conlon said during proceedings in the Downing Centre District Court on Wednesday, where Khadijeh 'Kat' Mehajer (left) also appeared in support of her brother. Mehajer had been accused of threatening to kidnap Bruce Herat's (inset) children and of claiming to have people working in the police who would shoot the personal trainer.

Paul and Elysia met as nine-year-olds while filming an iconic Qantas advert in front of Uluru (right). Sixteen years after the memorable 'I Still Call Australia Home' commercial, they returned there to get engaged (left and inset). Brisbane mother Sally Faulkner (right in left image), who was at the centre of an international child abduction scandal when she tried to snatch her children from her estranged husband Ali Elamine (left in left image), will appear in a new two part tell-all special on ABC's Australian Story. Ms Faulkner travelled to Lebanon with a 60 Minutes crew in April this year and attempted to abduct her children Lahela, five, and Noah, three, (right) after Elamine took them to Beirut for a holiday and never returned. However she was thrown in jail along with Channel Nine reporter Tara Brown (inset).

Robyn Lindholm (left and top right) is accused of killing her fiance George Templeton (bottom right), 38, who was last seen on May 2, 2005, when he disappeared from the Reservoir home, in Melbourne's north. Mr Templeton shared the home with with the one-time exotic dancer and his teenage son. Police allege Lindholm murdered Mr Templeton, whose body has not been found, between May 2 and May 3, 2005.

Authorities in Wisconsin are asking for public help to determine the origin of a disturbing video posted online in 2009 that some believe may be connected to a missing person. The video shows a man talking to the camera about his new girlfriend, then shows a female, apparently bound, in a small bathroom crying. Fifteen-year-old Kayla Berg, of Antigo, vanished a couple of months before the video was posted in 2009. Police say she had been dropped off by an acquaintance in Wausau. Berg's mother, Hope Sprenger, told WAOW-TV in Wausau that she watched the video.

One of Australia's top judges believes murdered Melbourne schoolgirl Masa Vukotic (left) could still be alive if more was done to help her killer during his childhood. Supreme Court Chief Justice Marilyn Warren (inset) believes Sean Price's (right) decision to stab the 17-year-old to death at random in a park in Doncaster, Melbourne, in March last year could have been prevented. Talking on young people and the law at Charles Darwin University on Tuesday night, Chief Justice Warren said if more was done to help a troubled Price in his younger years, Masa's death may never have occurred.

A cafe worker in Queensland who was racially discriminated against by an elderly customer in a wheelchair has received thousands of messages of support online and says the outpouring shows racism is not acceptable. Sudanese-born Josie Ajak (pictured)was behind the cash register of Gloria Jeans in Cairns, far north Queensland, when the woman told her she 'refused to be served by a black person.' A Facebook post from a friend of Ms Ajak has since drawn thousands of comments and shares, with people from all over Australia posting messages of support for her and condemning the woman's comments as 'shameful' and 'appalling'.

Her equipment included a small camera fitted to her underwear, and a headphone so helpers could relay the answers to her. But it all went badly wrong for her, and she was arrested by German police. She needed medical treatment after the headphone got stuck in her ear.

Witnesses said up to 400 police officers along with a helicopter and drones attended the funeral of Rebels Motorcycle Club member 'Big Barry' which took place on Saturday near Brisbane. Footage of the heavy police presence has divided opinion online, where some have accused officers of abusing their power and wasting money, while others say the presence was necessary to prevent trouble.

A 70-year-old great grandmother from the Sunshine Coast has taken out a bodybuilding title, revealing that she did it by going to the gym six times at week starting at 4.30am and eating clean. Mary Clayton (above) first started bodybuilding in her 30s, but took a break for many decades before returning to the sport. Ms Clayton said that she does bodybuilding to give herself something to focus on, and that she thinks all older people should be doing some form of weights or exercise.

The glamorous wife of financier Ben Goldsmith, health food caterer Jemima Jones, had no compunction about feeding her three month- old daughter at a wedding in Venice, Italy. The former model, 29, nursed the tot while wearing a £3,780 Gucci pink floral maxi-dress on the steps of a public building. The photo was shared on social media by Jemima's sister Quentin Jones, who wed business developer George Northcott.

Bondi resident Will Salkeld was travelling in Greece when he found a starving dog. But rather than let it go, the photographer did all he could to save 'Robbie'. Mr Salkeld (pictured left with Robbie) said when he first found the dog he was covered in fleas, had mangy fur, a blood parasite and worms. He was chained to a tree in the sun without food or water (top right). But after vet treatment and time in a shelter Robbie was able to make a full recovery (bottom right) and was re-homed in Germany.

Danney Williams, 30, claims he is the biological son of former President Bill Clinton. 'I read history. This goes back to the slave owners when they have a child with one of their slaves and their wives try to have them banished,' he says, breaking his silence. He pleads with Bill and Hillary to accept him into the fold. Rumors about Danney's paternity surfaced not long after his birth in 1985, when Clinton was still governor of Arkansas. Danney's mother Bobbie Anne Williams, who was a prostitute, says she is certain Clinton is the father since  he was her only white client at the time. The Clinton campaign refused to comment on the claims.

Despite a 'genuine imminent danger', thrillseekers are still risking their lives to take selfies at one of Sydney's most scenic spots, Wedding Cake Rock in the Royal National Park. Revealing drone footage shows visitors posing and hanging off the rock, scaling the security fence and bypassing warning signs to do so. Experts say the cliff face could collapse into the ocean below at any point.

This is the moment a horse was filmed facing off against a bull by its owners, believed to be somewhere in Brazil, before turning the tables and chasing the bigger animal away. For a few moments it looks as if the bull might be about to gore the horse, which is whinnying and trying to get out of the way, but it is soon running around after the bull. It is not known precisely why the pair were placed in an arena together, though it could be part of bullfight training.

Rebecca Kolpondinos (pictured), 33, from Port Lincoln, South Australia, was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago. Just hours before undergoing a double mastectomy, the mum of two spoke candidly to FEMAIL about her fears and her feelings around the upcoming surgery. 'I feel like I'm about to lose a part of me,' the 33-year-old said.

In a strange video uploaded on Instagram by Russian TV star Evelina Bledans her silicon lips are peeled off by an assistant in the dressing room, enabling the celebrity to head out for some food. She reportedly needed to wear them for one of her best known roles as an alluring blonde in the programme 'One For All'. For a few brief moments the cinema star grimaced in pain in the video, which has gone viral with over 125,000 views.

This is the moment a man from Dayboro, a rural suburb of Brisbane, discovered two pythons entwined on the floor of his kitchen on the weekend as they wrestled over a mate. Shockingly the man, who has not been named, says he allows one of the reptiles to live in the ceiling above his bed to help with pest control and keeping other deadly snakes away. He explained how he saw the snake slither through his kitchen before happening upon the battle.

With a series of lightning-quick jabs the ferocious feline successfully bats back the dog as the two trade blows at a house in an unknown location, but believed to be in North America. Their owner filmed the two fighting as the feline feinted during the fisticuffs before landing a few blows on the dog's nose. The video has sparked a heated debate on social media, with viewers split on whether it is all fun and games, or veers towards animal cruelty.

The amazing street-illusion turns an unwelcoming alley into a colourful attraction. Swiss artist Felice Varini created the mural in the city of New Haven, Connecticut. A video shows how the 110ft tall multi-dimensional wall painting transforms into a 'square with four circles', as the piece is named. From a seemingly random assortment of orange blotches on a garage and a pedestrian passageway it turns into a perfect symmetrical picture.

Photographs of a giant panda foraging through rubbish and apparently eating it (pictured) at a Chinese zoo has sparked outrage in the country. The images, captured by a visitor to Taiyuan Zoo in Shanxi province, showed the bear rooting through assorted junk in its enclosure, including a water bottle (right), food debris and a balloon (left). After the pictures appeared on Chinese social media site Weibo, thousands of people commented on the incident, calling for the zoo to be scrapped of its rights to house China's national treasure.

Johanna Nordblad, from Helsinki, Finland, once nearly lost her leg in a horrific accident but painful ice therapy saved it - now she's a world record-breaking freediver who swims under frozen lakes. In this fascinating footage, she is seen diving through a small hole in the ice (bottom left and right) and exploring a beautiful but bitter-cold world under the surface (main).

CC and Chewbacca have been insperable for years, but their friendship was almost threatened when their owners' baby became allergic to dogs and they had to be taken to Animal Rescue of Iowa. The shelter's volunteers were touched by their friendship, noticing that CC was always cuddling with Chewbacca everytime they walked by their kennel. The shelter made sure the pair were adopted together, and they now have a forever home after their picture went viral on Facebook.
