The moment Tom Brady abruptly ends press conference after being asked about his friend Donald Trump's 'locker room talk'

  • The Patriots quarterback refused to answer questions about Donald Trump's 'locker room talk' scandal at a Wednesday press conference
  • Brady is a noted friend of The Donald and previously said he hoped he would be elected president
  • He later walked back those comments, saying he was undecided
  • Meanwhile, a drove of other athletes have come out to criticize Trump's excuse that his language was typical man-to-man banter

Tom Brady abruptly ended a press conference on Wednesday, after a reporter asked him a question about his friend Donald Trump's 'locker room talk' scandal.

The Donald got into trouble on Friday when a tape was released, showing him talking lewdly about a woman with Billy Bush in 2005.

At the second presidential debate on Sunday, Trump tried to downplay the comments, saying they were just 'locker room talk' between two men.

While many athletes have since spoken out against that depiction, Brady refused to comment on the scandal when a reporter asked him about the lewd comments on Wednesday.

'Tom, you have kids of your own - how would you respond if your kids heard Donald Trump's version of locker room talk?' one reporter asked.

Brady responded by smiling and saying 'Thank you guys, have a good day' before promptly walking off the stage.

Brady has been a friend of Trump's ever since he was invited to judge the 2002 Miss USA pageant.

But their closeness has been causing troubles for Brady ever since last year, when a 'Make America Great Again' cap was spotted in his Patriots locker.

Many Twitter users criticized Brady for his response to the question on Trump

When reporters spotted the hat, they asked Brady if he wanted Trump to be president and he said: 'I hope so. That would be great. There'd be a putting green on the White House lawn. I know that'.

Trump took that as an endorsement and has continued to boast of his support from Brady.

However, Brady later clarified that the comment was 'offhand' and that he was still undecided in the election.

'Donald is a good friend of mine. I have known him for a long time. I support all my friends. That is what I have to say. He’s a good friend of mine. He’s always been so supportive of me... He’s always invited me to play golf and I’ve always enjoyed his company. I support all my friends in everything they do. I think it’s pretty remarkable what he’s achieved in his life. You’re going from business, kind of an incredible businessman and then a TV star, and then getting into politics. It’s three different career paths. I think that is pretty remarkable,' Brady said.

In the wake of Wednesday's press conference, many took to Twitter to criticize Brady for not saying anything at all.

While it's still unclear what Brady's true feelings are about the tape, plenty of other athletes have spoken out against it.

Oakland Athletics pitcher Sean Doolittle wrote earlier this week: 'As an athlete, I've been in locker rooms my entire adult life and uh, that's not locker room talk.'

Kendall Marshall, a point guard who recently played for the Philadelphia 76ers, was more specific, calling out harassment by saying: 'PSA: sexual advances without consent is NOT locker room talk.'

'The attempt to normalize it as any type of 'talk' is wrong. I refuse to let my son think that this is 'just how men speak,' Tamme wrote.

Queen Harrison also chimed in, saying: ''Locker room talk', 'Boys will be boys', 'Harmless banter'. These are not valid excuses for behavior. Never have been, never will be.'

Tamme, a tight end with the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, asked that Trump 'please stop saying 'locker room talk,'' adding that 'it's not normal. And even if it were normal, it's not right.'

Dodgers pitcher Brett Anderson , Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley and retired NFL players Donte Stallworth and Chris Kluwe offered similar condemnations.
