'I'm a stronger person' Scream Queens star Lea Michele reveals that facing down social media critics made her more confident as she poses for playful beach shoot

She stars in hit TV anthology Scream Queens and has just released her second album.

All in all, actress Lea Michele realises how lucky she is, telling Shape magazine in her cover interview: ' I have an amazing job, great opportunities, and a fantastic family and group of friends. 

'I genuinely wake up every day with a really big smile on my face because I love my life.'

She says she feels in better shape than ever after her mega daily workouts and Lea Michele certainly looks it too.

The Scream Queens star even exercises during breaks on set, so it's no wonder she pranced along the beach in a skin tight bodysuit.

She looked like a true beach beauty in her gold zip surfsuit with slashes on side.

But it wasn't always that way for the 30-year-old, who revealed she has learned not to place to much store on what haters say on social media. 

'We live in a social media-driven world, where people say whatever they want, and if you’re going to engage with them, you have to be confident,' Lea said. 

'Everybody is always going to have an opinion, and they’re entitled to that. You just have to know who you are and what you believe in.

'I was raised to be confident. But confidence also comes from getting knocked down. When you go through something tough, you come out of it a stronger person.' 

Standing a petite 5ft 2ins, the beautiful brunette doesn't let her body image determine her self-worth.

'I get a lot of compliments on my legs, which is funny for a short girl. But they’re one of my favorite things about my body.'

And Lea, who is presently single, added: 'I’ve been skinnier and I’ve been a little bit bigger, and I’m never hard on myself one way or the other. 

'The fact that I’m active, eating well, and taking care of myself is all that matters - not a number.' 

For the shoot, the celebrity posed on a beach in a number of revealing outfits, including a gold bodysuit, a red spring wetsuit worn partially unzipped to reveal her cleavage, a clingy, sheer white dress.

Lea also modeled  teeny blue shorts and a chunky knit blue sweater, and a white knitted sweater and panties.

The celebrity took to Instagram to post a copy of her front page for her 3.9 million followers, saying: 'So excited to be on the cover of @Shape_magazine’s November issue! Pick up your copy on October 18.

'Also join me at the NYC SHAPE Body Shop on October 22.'
