'The breakup was really hard': Lindsey Vonn reveals she felt like she was 'living in a fishbowl' when she called it quits with Tiger Woods

She's an Olympic gold medalist in downhill skiing.

But Lindsey Vonn's fame didn't prepare her for the deluge of publicity that surrounded her relationship with pro-golfer Tiger Woods. And it only got worse when they split up in May 2015 after three years together.

'It was really hard. The breakup, being together, it was all really hard,' the beautiful blonde told E! News's Zuri Hall in an interview posted online on Wednesday. The athlete, who turns 32 on October 18, added: 'It was essentially being in a fish bowl.'

'Everybody's looking at you and judging you and commenting on what they think is right or wrong and it was hard.'

But something good did come out of the experience.

'That’s one thing that made me stronger. Being able to block out the noise and block out other people’s opinions,' she dished.

'Honestly, it doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks as long as you’re happy.'

During her September appearance on Running Wild With Bear Grylls, Lindsey admitted she still had feelings for Tiger, 40.

'I loved him so much, and I still do. It just didn't work, you know?' she told Bear.

'It was too much with his competition schedule and mine. We're still on good terms, we're friends. But it was really hard.'

Get the A-list look with Lindsey's Stuart Weitzman boots

Summer is officially over and it's time we all start getting serious about fall fashion.

You don't want to be caught in the cold unprepared. And luckily you don't have to because Lindsey Vonn is showing us the way to work a romper for winter.

We suspect we'll be seeing a lot of these Stuart Weitzman 'Highland' boots in the coming months. They're a ubiquitous look in colder climes and Lindsey Vonn is not the first stylish star to be spotted in them--everyone from Gigi Hadid to Kylie Jenner, Olivia Palermo and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has strutted their stuff in these suede beauties so it's fair to say they've made it to cult status.

And if they're good enough for them, then they're definitely good enough for us so why not click (right) to buy some now? They come in an array of different colors too but we love this classic black colorway.

Meanwhile, Lindsey is presently promoting her new book, Strong Is The New Beautiful.

It offers lessons in strength, fitness, food, and attitude designed to help readers be the best they can be.

Vonn has already hit the Today Show, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and ESPN, all in New York, to chat up the book.
