No doubt she wanted to bring out one of her more stylish looks at the gala for her activewear brand.

Kate looked groovy as she sported a black knit vest over a white sleeveless top.

As if that was not enough Seventies flare, she also wore a pair of large flowy bell-bottomed jeans.

Her blonde locks were worn down flowing over her shoulders as she sported natural, complimentary make-up on her face topped off with shiny red lip.

Kate is one of the founders of the subscription-based sportswear brand.

Every month it offers members personalised outfits chosen based on their preferences.

Despite her entreprenurial efforts, she still has not quit her day job as her latest film is Deepwater Horizon, which stars Mark Wahlberg as Mike Williams, the real-life chief electronics technician on the titular BP oil rig that infamously sank in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. The resultant months-long oil spill was the largest ever to occur in American waters.

The Raising Helen star features as Williams' wife Felicia in the film, which also stars Hawn's partner Kurt Russell, a man Hudson refers to as 'Pa.' Deepwater Horizon opened in the UK last Thursday and the US last Friday.

Promoting the film on Good Morning America last Wednesday, she discussed the actual Felicia Williams' set visits, noting: 'I got to talk to her a lot. She's a wonderful, very strong woman.'

During filming, she said, 'you have this sort of extra added thing in the back of your head, going: "You know, the families are gonna see this movie." So, you really want to be careful, and - there's no carelessness going into making a film like that, when you know the families are watching.'

Noting that Williams, who helped his colleagues to safety, 'was the last one off the rig,' she vaunted the courage of 'some real heroes on that rig.' Though 11 lives were lost, 'It's surprising that more did not die because they were so there for each other.'
