'She struggled with it': TOWIE's Danielle Armstrong admits her close pal Lydia Bright was desperate not to hurt ex James 'Arg' Argent after their Marbella hook up

They've been on and off since they were teenagers. 

But Lydia Bright reportedly 'struggled' with hurting her ex-boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent after they shared an alcohol-fuelled night of passion in Marbella earlier this month.

The TOWIE star's close pal Danielle Armstrong reflected on her co-stars' troubled relationship during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday, revealing it was difficult for Lydia because she didn't want to lead him on.

Danielle mused: 'Lydia feels bad, she struggled with it... It's not a normal situation. They've been together so long.

'They've got a lot of history and she still loves him.'

However, Danielle insisted her friend was doing well, saying, 'She's in a good place.'

Quizzed whether she thought Arg and Lydia would be getting back together, Danielle was adamant there was no chance for their love.

'She doesn't want to hurt him. I don't think they'll get back together, but she still cares for him', she explained.

Lydia ended things with her long-term boyfriend in May after he allegedly relapsed into his cocaine habit.

Arg's party lifestyle had been a bone of contention over the years, with most of their rows revolving around him keeping secrets from her and slipping back into his bad ways.   

Shortly after their split, Lydia told her ex she 'despised' him during a heated beach argument.

Danielle also touched upon her own failed relationship with long-term love James 'Lockie' Lock.

The blonde beauty shocked fans this summer when she announced she had ended things with him, after he failed to change his ways when they got back together.

She revealed: 'Me and James have been on and off for three years. Sometimes it's best to let it go. We tried to make it work and it didn't.'

Danielle recently shared a video with fans explaining just why she called it quits with Lockie.

She said: 'I think obviously we did discuss about future and marriage and stuff and things like and he said he didn't want that – but that wasn't just the reason why we broke up.

'There was a lot of things he did in our relationship that upset me, he did let me down, and he just wasn't really a very good boyfriend.

'So I really don't want people out there thinking "Oh God, someone just get married to her and knock the girl up!" – that is NOT the case.

'I've got a lot to do in my career, I'm young, and that's it!"'
