'They are offensive comments. Period': Soap star Arianne Zucker breaks her silence about Donald Trump's lewd remarks and the impact it has had on her young daughter

Arianne Zucker sat down for her first interview since a tape emerged last week of a 2005 interview in which Donald Trump and  Billy Bush both made lewd comments about her moments before they first met.

'It feels very surreal to be in it, I'm not quite sure I believe it yet,' said Zucker in an interview with Today on Thursday morning.

'They are offensive comments for women. Period.'

Bush could be heard on the video calling Zucker a 'hot piece of a***,' while Trump spoke about needing Tic Tacs in case the two started kissing.

It was at that point that Trump told Bush: '[W]hen you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Whatever you want ... grab them by the p****.'

Now, Zucker is hoping to teach her daughter a lesson as she goes through this ordeal.

'I want to teach my daughter that if she ever gets in a situation like mommy is in right now that she will hold her head high as well,' said Zucker.

'And if she's learned anything from it, how can she share this with other women or young girls or whoever is around her.

'Young boys even. I think young men can learn from this, about how not to be in front of women or how to speak in front of women.'

Zucker admitted however that after her many years in show business she was not completely thrown off by the release of the video and Trump's comments.

'Not with that type of personality, I wasn't shocked,' she said.

'Which is why it probably doesn't mean a lot to me.'

Shge seemed a bit more conflicted however when asked to speak about Bush's role in the video.

As soon as Trump stepped off the bus, and just moments after he made the offensive comments which can be heard on the video, Bush urged Zucker to give Trump a hug.

He then asked her to hug 'the Bushy.'

'Who knows how he was feeling when he walked off the bus or what he needed to do in the relationship,' said Zucker.

'Because when he came off the bus along with Mr. Trump, I had no feeling but professional.'

Zucker was then asked whether or not she accepted Trump\s apology, to which she replied: 'That was an interesting apology.'

She said that neither Trump not anyone in his campaign has reached out to offer her an apology.

Zucker, who will not say who she is voting for in the upcoming election, is now ready to move forward from this,  but with a message.

'I'm ready to use it in a proper way. I'm ready to use it for positivity,' she said.

'I'm ready to use it for women to step forward and to do good things in my life and for other people.'

She had previously released a statement last week in which she said: 'My name is Arianne Zucker and I am a strong, independent, hard working mother, business woman and partner to a great man.

'I have grown to learn that the words of others cannot effect the value of my self worth or define the content of my character.

'How we treat one another, whether behind closed doors, locker rooms or face to face, should be done with kindness, dignity and respect.

'Unfortunately, there are too many people in power who abuse their position and disregard these simple principles and are rewarded for it.

'In understanding the magnitude of this situation, I choose to stand tall with self respect and use my voice to enrich, inspire and elevate the best of who we are as people.'
