The 46-year-old English actress recently revealed that she endured a sexual assault as a teenager while on vacation in Greece.

She spoke about its relevance to the US election since a recording emerged of Republican nominee Trump, 70, boasting about using his fame to 'grab women by the p***y'.

The 2005 recording was of the presidential hopeful saying: 'I'm automatically attracted to beautiful [women]—I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything...grab them by the p***y. You can do anything'.

The Good Will Hunting star shared her own sexual assault experience on the SiriusXM radio program 'Stand Up with Pete Dominick' on Tuesday.

'I didn't mean to talk about it,' she told WWHL host Andy Cohen.

'I went on there to talk about Speechless [her new TV show] and Pete who was interviewing me is a great journalist and a really interesting dude and it was pertinent to the comments that were made by Hillary Clinton's opponent, which are un-sanctionable to me, under any circumstances, whether it was 11 years ago, the notion of consent…anyway,' she trailed off, clearly growing emotional.

'So I told the story about what happened to me, when I was just 17 and it was deeply unpleasant and I was genuinely made to feel by the local police, I was in Greece at the time, that if I hadn't been provocative and if I had just gone along with what this guy wanted me to do then I wouldn't have gotten beaten up,' she continued.

Adding: 'It's important to talk about it, now has never been a better time to speak up and for young women to feel like they have a voice and… nobody gets to grab you by anything unless you want them to'.

Minnie also revealed issues on the 1997 Good Will Hunting movie that earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
