Dynamic duo! Tilda Swinton broils in burgundy as she promotes Doctor Strange with Benedict Cumberbatch

She plays his mystical mentor in their forthcoming blockbuster.

But it was very much a meeting of equals as Tilda Swinton and Benedict Cumberbatch teamed up to promote Doctor Strange press conference in Hong Kong on Thursday.

The British A-listers looked like they were having a great time mingling with the media in the Pearl Of The Orient.

Scottish stunner Tilda, 55, showcased her signature androgenous style in a flattering velvet burgungdy trouser suit and smart leather shoes.

Indeed her co-star Benedict, 40, looked like something of the poor relation in a casual ensemble of T-shirt, cardigan, jeans and trainers.

The blonde beauty is playing the Ancient One in the forthcoming Marvel popcorn film, and trains the English beefcake's character Stephen Strange in the ways of magic.

Of course he is then forced to use his newfound powers for good, most pertinently to take on the evil Kaecilius, who is played by Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen.

Thankfully our hero is not alone in his struggle, as he will be battling with the aid of his trusty manservant Wong.

Tilda recently revealed it is not her string of Hollywood hits that have given her the most joy.

For she said the alternative school she founded in her native Scotland is her proudest achievement in life.

Tilda co-founded the Independent fee-paying Drumduan School in Moray in the Scottish Highlands, from which her twins Xavier and Honor will graduate next summer.

She told Out: 'It’s the best. 'Probably the thing I’m most proud of.'

The school prides itself on using no government testing, offering academic study through a mixture of physical coordination, athletic skills, music and artistic work.

Instead of being tested and graded, students learn core subjects such as maths, English and science in original ways and regularly enjoy activities such as canoeing, hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking.

The curriculum is based on the radical Steiner education system, which encourages children's creativity, spirituality and morality.

Tilda explained: 'It’s been a seven-year project to establish our school. We offer state-test-free education from kindergarten to 19 years old.
