A very warm welcome: Accompanied by British co-star Felicity Jones and celebrated director Ron Howard, the Hollywood veteran, 60, was greeted by plumes of fire while entering BBC studios to talk about his latest blockbuster
The source material is familiar territory for the actor, who first played Langdon in an adaptation of Brown's career defining novel The Da Vinci Code in 2006 before reprising the role in 2009 sequel Angels & Demons.
Inferno finds Langdon waking up in a hospital in Florence with no memory of the last few days.
Teaming up with Dr. Sienna Brooks, played by Felicity, he races across the city in a bid to retrace his footsteps and escape being found by a major manhunt.
