Tattooed, semi-naked and suggestively wielding a wand, it is Harry Potter as you have never seen him before. 

Pictures of a male model posing as the Hogwarts pupil - played in the films by British actor Daniel Radcliffe in a more wholesome interpretation of the character - in a 'boudoir shoot' are sending fans of the novels wild.

The pictures, by Oklahoma City photographer Sarah Hester, show a Harry Potter look-alike lying topless in bed, with his hands in his boxers and gazing longingly into the camera.

Harry is played by 24-year-old Zachary Howell, from Oklahoma, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the popular literary character created by author JK Rowling.

Sarah, 34, said she came up with the idea after meeting Zachary on another shoot when she noticed his similarity to Harry Potter.

She told Daily Mail Online: 'He was modeling for us and helping with posing men. I mainly shoot females and I need a ton of help.

Nickname: During the previous shoot, Sarah said she kept calling Zachary 'Harry'

'I couldn't remember his name so I started calling him "Harry". We joked about doing a Harry Potter boudoir sessions and decided it could be awesome.'

A week later they did the Harry shoot which was so successful that they are now considering making a calendar.

Sarah said she is 'totally shocked' by how quickly the pictures have circulated.

'It's incredible. I posted them in a couple groups from my blog and three hours later I was getting emails from publications,' she added.

Zachary, who is also a photographer, wrote on Instagram: 'We have so much more planned and in store for our fans! Also, would anyone be down for a calendar?' 

Fans could not contain their excitement, with one fan quoting a levitation spell from the film.

'Toroshinaviolet' added: 'I would literally sell you my soul for a calendar.'
