Kendall Jenner covers herself in body paint as she joins Gigi Hadid for one of her most bizarre shoots to date

They're not only best friends, but two of the most sought out models.

So it was undoubtedly a good choice to partner Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid for W Art magazine with the pair transforming themselves for the eccentric spread.

Not afraid to throw herself into the swing of things, Kendall also set to work on a video, recreating famous pieces of performance art, which included painting her body.

Kendall and Gigi are hot property in the modelling world right now. They've cemented their model status despite doubters and now are in demand all around the world for runway shows and magazine shoots.

Here W magazine had the pair posing together for their 10th anniversary art issue and they twinned in a pair of Louis Vuitton dresses.

The statement color block numbers were marched down the resort 2017 runways so aren't available to buy right now, but click right to see the collection they came from.

Clad in just a nude bodysuit, the reality starlet set to work with a broad paintbrush as she covered herself in blue dye in honour of Yves Klein's work. 

The star also mimicked Yoko Ono's famous work by having a tulle dress cut off her as she gazed steely-eyed down the lens. 

For her final recreational piece, she enlisted the help of best friend Gigi, as the starlets wove their hair together to imitate the famous work by Marina Abramovic and Ulay.

Looking virtually unrecognisable, Kendall's nose was photoshopped beyond recognition - giving her animal like qualities. 

Ever the professional, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star still looked like a model as she reclined with her gaze firmly on the lens, whilst she showed off her incredible figure in a red floral bikini top. 

Gigi was also given an unusual makeover as she sported animal ears whilst posing in a frog-like position whilst clad in a bright orange jacket.

It came as no surprise to see Kendall and Gigi were willing participants in the shoot, having worked on a number of high-profile and eccentric campaigns between them.

Speaking to the magazine, Kendall revealed that despite the number of shows she has walked in, the 2014 Marc Jacobs runway presentation she will always remember as it was her 'big break'. 

She explained that her nerves were soon squashed by excitement, as she revealed: 'My biggest concern was definitely falling. And then my t**s were out. I don’t know why I wasn’t nervous about that. 

'I was really excited about my t**s being out, actually. Why?I don’t know. I’m weird. I love my t**s being out. It’s like one of my things, I guess.'
