Happy couple: The Today show anchor is pictured with Michael Feldman earlier this month

The mom, who also has a two-year-old daughter named Vale, revealed in the November issue of the magazine that she wasn't immediately convinced that she was pregnant when she first took an at-home test.

'I woke up very early in the morning and took a test, but it didn't turn positive right away,' she explained. 'I set it aside, sat at my computer, and just tried not to collapse.

'I kept thinking, "I know how blessed I am, and what's meant to be is meant to be." Then, five minutes later, I glanced at the test again and saw two lines.'

Too cute: The couple's daughter Vale celebrated her second birthday in August

Out and about: Savannah attended the New York Film Festival screening of Jackie last week with her co-anchors Matt Lauer, Hoda Kotb, and Willie Geist (from left to right)

Savannah said the lines were so faint that she 'turned on every light in the house' and took multiple pregnancy tests before waking up and showing Michael, who was 'so excited'.

The couple's daughter Vale is about to become a big sister, and Savannah is thrilled that she is giving her little girl a baby brother.

'I came to motherhood so late in life. When I got pregnant with Vale, I won't say I'd given up hope, but I didn't let myself think about how sad I would be if it never worked out,' she explained. So when Vale came along, I was overjoyed.

'And to this day, if it was only Vale, it would not be "just Vale". She is beyond every dream, the icing on the cake, plus the gold medal, plus everything. But at the same time, I wanted to try to give her somebody to do life with.'

Although she and Michael do have a name in mind for their son, she said they are 'big believers in looking at the baby to see if the name fits'.
