Price is Right contestants make history with a three-way TIE after each spin $1 on the wheel

  • Three contestants spun a dollar on the wheel during Showcase Showdown
  • The trio formed a jumping group hug during the win on Monday night
  • Price is Right is now in its 45th season

Price is Right history was made on Monday's episode when a trio of contestants spun different combinations of $1 on the game show's colorful wheel.

The three contestants each landed on spaces adding up to $1 in a pair of spins during one of the show's showcase showdowns.

The game show famously awards contestants who earn $1 on the wheel without going over a $1,000 prize and a chance to spin again.

Winners: (L-R) Jessica, Manfred and Cathryn each landed on spaces adding up to $1 in a pair of spins during one of the show's showcase showdowns on Monday night

Record: In the show's 45-year history, such a tie has never happened before, and the three contestants celebrated with a jumping hug

By the game’s rules, all three won $1,000 and a bonus spin for a chance to win $25,000

The first - and most vibrant - contestant to spin was Catherine, followed Manfred and then Jessica.

All three jumped and hugged in typical Price is Right fashion, although more ecstatic than usual.

Host Drew Carey pumped his fist in the air after the contestants achieved the first three-way $1 tie with different combinations in the show's history.

'I don't know if that's ever happened,' Carey said, before the win was verified as one for the history books.

'I don't know if that's ever happened,' Price is Right host Drew Carey said afterwards

Cathryn (left) was the first to spin, followed by Manfred (right), who ended up the big winner, taking home a car and a cruise

Celebrations: All the contestants and host Carey jumped for joy as the trio all spun a dollar

In past instances of such a tie, at least one of the contestants landed exactly on the wheel's coveted $1 space.

However after the bonus spins, it was Manfred who came out the victor.

He scored the highest number in the spins, and went on to win a car and a cruise.

The long-running CBS game show is now in its 45th season.
