Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini fails to raise a smile as he parties in London... as 'pregnant' ex Cheryl is granted speedy divorce 'in a matter of seconds'

  • The singer, 33, and the French businessman, 36, were granted a decree nisi in just 14 seconds on Thursday morning
  • Neither party attended London's Central Family Court for the hearing
  • Cheryl will reportedly keep all of her estimated £20m fortune
  • In papers she complained that his behaviour caused her to lose weight
  • The pair wed in secret in summer 2014 after a three-month romance
  • Began living separate lives in August '15 before announcing split this year
  • Cheryl is now said to be expecting a child with new love, Liam Payne, 23

It was a glum looking Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini who stepped out in London on Wednesday evening - shortly before pop star ex Cheryl officially ended their ill-fated 18-month marriage.

Despite failing to raise a smile, the French businessman appeared untroubled by his impending divorce while attending the launch of MNKY HSE late-night restaurant in Mayfair.

Jean-Bernard looked the picture of cool in a leather biker jacket, paired with a plain white T-shirt.

He stuck to his dressed down aesthetic thanks to a pair of ripped jeans, and sported a bushy beard.

With his hands in his pockets, Cheryl's ex looked like he hadn't a care in the world.

Hours later, the businessman was officially divorced from Cheryl after her decree nisi was granted on Thursday morning. Neither party was in attendance.

Estranged: Since news of their split broke last winter, Cheryl has moved on with One Direction singer Liam Payne, with whom she is allegedly expecting her first child

The Fight For This Love hitmaker, 33, was handed a decree nisi at the Central Family Court, thus putting to an end their marriage in a matter of seconds.

A statement released to MailOnline reads: 'Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini have today obtained Decree Nisi in their divorce proceedings. No further comment will be made and they ask for their privacy to be respected.'

Both parties were believed to have already agreed the terms of their separation, with Cheryl set to keep all of her estimated £20million fortune.

The divorce comes 10 months after their separation was announced in January. It also marks a year since they were last seen in public together last October.

The couple had been married for just 18-months but living apart for five months by the turn of 2016, splitting on their secret second wedding anniversary.

Moving on: Cheryl's marriage to Jean-Bernard, left, lasted just 18 months. She is now dating boy band hunk Liam, right

They exchanged vows on Macaroni Beach, in Mustique on July 7, 2014, having known each other for about 12 weeks after meeting at the Cannes Film Festival.

As the pair continued to live separate lives last Autumn, the star's cousin Tony Tweedy said: 'Cheryl can't speak French.

'I'm told he speaks little English. What sort of relationship is it if she cannot speak French and he can't speak English? They may as well have a threesome with the interpreter.'

A separate source added: ‘Last year was a terrible year and she’s a completely different person now.

'She’s relieved she can finally move on with her life. She’s the happiest she’s been in a long time.’

Love Feels Best: Liam teased his new music on his Instagram profile on Wednesday just hours after revealing he jetted to Los Angeles to continue working on his solo debut

Her new flame Liam Payne has remained tight-lipped over her 'pregancy' rumours and instead opted to tease his new music on Instagram on Wednesday just hours after revealing he jetted to Los Angeles to continue working on his solo debut.

The 23-year-old former One Direction hunk, who is on an indefinite hiatus from the band, appeared to show the cover of his new single as he sat on the floor in front of a graffiti-ed wall reading 'Love Feels Best'.

Earlier in the day he posted a selfie on Instagram to urge fans to 'wish him luck' ahead of his second solo recording session in the states.

The heartthrob is said to be expecting his first child with Cheryl, 33, who has shown off a more rounded stomach in recent weeks.

Since Liam confirmed his romance with the Girls Aloud hitmaker earlier this year, the happy couple garnered pregnancy rumours when he changed his official Twitter bio to say he was 'the happiest man in the world'.

Shunning the baby chatter, the handsome star has jetted to Los Angeles once more to continue work on his solo career, shortly after Cheryl flew to Paris to celebrate Fashion Week.

Posting a brooding selfie, the handsome star added a caption on the shot: 'Good to be back in LA ...writing trip two wish me luck'.

The emerging artist teased fans yet again with a picture beside US musician Pharrell Williams on Friday, saying that it had been a 'pleasure working' with the hitmaker for a few days.

Liam and Cheryl went public with their romance in February, shortly after it was announced that her marriage to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Verisini was over.

It was later revealed that the couple had struck up a bond during filming for the 2015 series of the X Factor.

They first met when a 14-year-old Liam auditioned for the X Factor as a solo artist in 2008 and Cheryl - married at the time to footballer Ashley Cole - was serving on the panel as a judge.

After announcing a new US record deal the singer became a trending topic on Twitter, however, some fans became confused and believed his girlfriend Cheryl had confirmed rumours of a pregnancy.

As news spread of Liam's new deal in the states with Republic Records many One Direction fans rushed to wish him their best on social media.

And soon after word of the deal became public knowledge the hashtag '#CongratsLiam' was a trending topic on the micro-blogging site.

However, some Directioners who were late to the party got the shock of their life as they mistakenly believed Liam had confirmed rumours that he and his girlfriend were expecting their first child.

While some nearly had a 'heart attack' at first, the confusion was soon cleared up with fans making light of their initial reactions.

Cute couple: The duo have been dating since late last year

One fan @_FluffyLarry wrote: 'I thought it was about Chiam [Cheryl and Liam] pregnancy #congratsliam.' Before tagging on a wide-eyed gif below.

@LynaStoessei joked: '#congratsliam I had i little heart attack because i thought this hashtag confirm that Liam will be a dad [sic].'

Another @ProudLiLoGirl wrote: 'That moment when you come on twitter, then you read #CongratsLiam and think @LiamPayne confirmed he's gonna be a dad.'

Reports of a first pregnancy for the famous couple then gained traction when Cheryl's mother Joan Callaghan was pictured buying baby goods.

The sighting appeared to confirm the news, though a spokesperson for Cheryl has since refused to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
