Tobey Maguire was spotted partying at a nightclub with Sofia Richie just weeks before the Spider-Man star and jewelry designer wife Jennifer Meyer publicly announced they're separating after nine years of marriage.

Newly-released images taken October 1 show the The Spoils of Babylon actor, 41, talking in Sofia's ear while spending time with the 18-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie at West Hollywood nightclub 1 OAK.

The 41-year-old actor, in the midst of rediscovering his inner-bachelor, has an excellent tour guide for the task: his confidante of 25 years, Academy Award-winning pal Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Wolf of Wall Street star, according to a New York Post report, has accompanied Maguire on the trips through some of the hottest venues in Los Angeles.

Back in the 1990s, the screen idols were among a Hollywood club clique that also inlcuded actors Kevin Connolly, Lukas Haas and magician David Blaine.

A source told the paper: 'Tobey was out in LA at all these hot spots ... it looked like he was following in Leo’s footsteps.

'Tobey hasn’t been known to date those types of girls in the past. But he has been all over LA lately. It looks like Leo’s rubbed off on him.'

A different source told them that Maguire’s been going out 'more often than usual' to DiCaprio fave 1Oak in LA.

They also said that he was at supper club Delilah with actor Shane Powers on Friday, where 'there were lots of hot girls,' according to their source, but, 'Tobey seemed fine. He was just enjoying being out with guy friends.'

The paper also quote a source saying that while newly single Maguire’s been on the town, 'it’s not a secret — Jen knows. Jen goes out, too.

'These two people are the best of friends, there is no third party involved and there is no animosity. He’s just going to clubs with Leo — that’s what’s happening.'

Tobey and Jennifer, the daughter of Hollywood honcho Ron Meyer, started dating in 2003 and wed in 2007 in a small wedding ceremony in Hawaii.

They have two children together: daughter Ruby, aged nine, and son Otis, aged seven.

On Tuesday they released a statement to People that read, 'After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple. As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.'

They were last seen together on Sunday in LA with their children.

They both appeared solemn as they strolled along after stopping for coffee at Melrose Place restaurant.

Richie, the younger sister of Nicole Richie, was previously involved with Justin Bieber, famously resulting in the Baby singer, 22, deleting his Instagram account - which had 77.8 million followers - after many of them took exception to his latest courting.

But the relationship ultimately crumbled under the pop star's relctance to fully committ to the stunning teen, as an insider told E! in September that he 'doesn't want a relationship. 

'They were never officially together, but more casual hanging out and having fun,' the source added.
